  • Patent number: 9794330
Abstract: A server, a server management system and a server management method are disclosed. The server comprises a field replaceable unit (FRU) memory and a baseboard management controller (BMC). The FRU memory stores an FRU data. The BMC receives an FRU access command from a remote management computer via an intelligent platform management interface (IPMI). The FRU access command comprises an FRU identification (ID). The BMC determines whether the FRU ID belongs to the FRU memory. If the FRU ID does not belong to the FRU memory, the BMC accesses a custom file according to the FRU ID. The custom file is different from the FRU data.

  • Patent number: 9705744
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for updating hardware and software components of a cloud computing environment. An administrative server monitors the usage statistics (e.g., compute utilization) of the hardware and software components of the cloud computing environment. Upon receiving user-selected thresholds for the usage statistics, which may be stored in a profile, the administrative server applies a user-provided patch to the hardware or software component whose threshold criteria has been met. Alternatively, the administrative server may automatically update the hardware and software components based on determined minimum usage points (i.e., minimum levels of usage activity) using the monitored usage statistics of the hardware and software components.

  • Patent number: 9704313
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for interacting with access control devices. In overview, a human user physically identifies an access control device with which he/she wishes to interact, for example in the context of providing commissioning and/or configuration data. The user then makes a physical local interaction with the device, for example by way of a smartcard having predefined characteristics. This causes the access control device to enable a wireless communications protocol, thereby to allow the user to discover the device using a portable device which implements a complementary wireless communications protocol. Commissioning information is then provided by way of the portable device to the access control device in a wireless manner. Once this is complete, the access control device disables the wireless communications protocol.

  • Patent number: 9654442
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention introduces a method for deploying clustered servers, executed by a processing unit of a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, which contains at least the following steps. Deployment information associated with a requesting server is encapsulated into an acknowledgement after the DHCP server receives a request from the requesting server, where the request requests an IP (Internet Protocol) address, which has been assigned by the DHCP server. The acknowledgement is replied to the requesting server, thereby enabling the requesting server to configure itself as a master server or a slave server in a cloud computing environment according to the deployment information of the acknowledgement.

  • Patent number: 9573149
Abstract: A composite structure formation method includes the steps of storing a plurality of pre-formed controlled particles in a storage mechanism, supplying the controlled particles from the storage mechanism to an aerosolation mechanism constantly, disaggregating the supplied controlled particles into a plurality of the fine particles in the aerosolation mechanism to form an aerosol in which an entire contents of the controlled particles including the fine particles are dispersed in the gas; and spraying all of the fine particles in the aerosol toward the substrate to form a composite structure of the structure and the substrate. The controlled particles are controlled so that bonding strength between the fine particles includes a mean compressive fracture strength sufficient to substantially avoid disaggregation during the supply step, but which permits the controlled particles to be substantially completely disaggregated in the disaggregation step.
