  • Patent number: 5836911
Abstract: A nozzle assembly adapted for an injector, includes a guide for proper application of injections. The guide has first and second wings each extending outwardly and away from the chamber at an angle. These wings are preferably symmetrical and form a V-shape to accommodate appendages such as fingers, toes, or penises. The wings may be curved or straight depending upon the curvature of the substrate to be injected. Also, depending upon the angle layout or length of the wings relative to the chamber and the symmetry of the wings, injections can be set to penetrate at almost any desired angle.

  • Patent number: 5700243
Abstract: The present invention is an improved balloon-type catheter with an integral fiber optic assembly for delivering light to a intraluminal target wherein the improvement comprises the use of a perfusion channel to bypass the balloon near the tip of the catheter. The bypass channel enables a fluid material such as oxygen or blood to flow around the inflated balloon during photo-irradiation. A preferred embodiment of the balloon-type perfusion includes a body portion comprising an elongated, flexible, tubular sheath having proximal and distal ends. The body portion is internally partitioned into three longitudinal lumens. The first lumen contains the illuminating fiber optics that include a cylindrical light diffuser tip. The second lumen is an inflation passage for conducting inflation fluid to a balloon which coaxially surrounds the sheath overlying the diffuser tip terminus of the fiber optics near the distal end of the catheter.

  • Patent number: 5490842
Abstract: A syringe device has a vial for medicaments having a first open end at a scaled second end. The first end having a plunger tip for sealing the end and has a finger grip means mounted adjacent the first. The needle and hub is slidably mounted on a needle on the second end in axial alignment with the sealed end to position said needle for access to the vial. The plunger rod has a first engagement on one end for engagement with the plunger tip and mounting means for detachably mounting the plunger between the finger grip and the hub to prevent access to the vial when the plunger is mounted thereon.
