Abstract: A door lock, particularly well suited for releasably retaining a pivotally mounted truck door in a closed position, includes a shaft and its operating means mounted on the door, and a pair of keeper members mounted on the door frame. A pair of cam members are secured to opposite end regions of the shaft. The shaft has a central portion which projects through openings formed in opposite sides of a pan-shaped housing. A handle is secured to the central portion for rotating the shaft to bring the cam members into and out of latching engagement with the keeper members. The handle is moveable between a nested position wherein the handle is nested within a recess defined by the pan-shaped housing, and a projecting position wherein the handle projects forwardly from the recess. A latch mechanism is carried by the housing and includes a latch member mounted for pivotal movement between latched and unlatched positions.

Abstract: A goblet-type receptacle holder characterized by a plurality of receptacle receiving channels on each side of a central inlet channel with which the receiving channels communicate. The receiving channels can be defined by the parallel disposed legs of substantially W-shaped members. A first pair of substantially U-shaped members connected to the W-shaped members at the ends thereof remote from the inlet channel provide support for the holder via fasteners passed therebetween and a second pair of substantially U-shaped members provide additional support for the first pair of U-shaped members. The second pair of U-shaped members also provide for interconnecting and rigidizing the holder components. The character-shaped members and other support and linkage rods can be metallic rods or strips and can be of a material susceptible to resistance welding.

Abstract: A vehicle seat back support and, more particularly, a seat back support with provision for selective adjustment of the angular position between the seat cushion and the seat back. A seat cushion mounting member has a toothed sector in its upper, rearward edge portion. Below the toothed sector, a rotatable support shaft is mounted which includes an eccentric portion on which a seat back mounting member is pivotally mounted. The seat back mounting member includes a toothed portion adapted to engage or mesh with the toothed sector of the seat cushion mounting member. An actuation lever is attached to the rotatable support shaft to move the eccentric portion upward by rotation of the shaft. Resultantly, the seat back mounting member is moved upward and its toothed portion is disengaged from the toothed sector, thereafter permitting the seat back to be angularly adjusted with respect to the seat cushion.

Abstract: A platform for the lifting and handling of goods comprising a base frame, a loading frame, both made of a polymeric material, and superimposed on one another, and uprights extending between and connecting the frames. The loading frame is formed by a pair of reticular structures, which are superimposed on one another. The intersecting elongate members of each reticular structure are staggered with respect to those in the other such structure and the reticular structures are connected to form a rigid construction at least by means of joining elements connecting the structures at locations where the elongate members of one structure cross those of the other structure.

Abstract: In a system for combustion of fuel to produce heat in which there are alternate primary and secondary means to supply combustion air and in which the fuel flow is ratioed to the total air flow, the flow of fuel to the combustion chamber is controlled on shutdown of operation of the primary means for supplying combustion air by activating the secondary means for supplying combustion air and relaying a signal to the ratio controller which falsely indicates sufficiently low flow of air to the combustion chamber to cause an immediate reduction of flow of fuel to the combustion chamber to be within safe limits.

Abstract: An exhaust gas muffler for an internal combustion engine. The muffler designed to increase back pressure to the engine within acceptable manufacturer limits and increase the frequency of the sound of the exhaust gas so that the acoustic energy is more easily attenuated when exhausted into the atmosphere.

Abstract: A shelf and corner post combination wherein the shelf is adjustable into any of a variety of selected elevations. Each of the posts is preferably cylindrical and is provided with a series of vertically-spaced indentations along at least one side thereof. The shelf includes a perimetric frame having adjacent side frame members which merge to define a corner section having an inside contour corresponding with that of the post. Each corner section has at least one inwardly-projecting horizontal rib adapted to seat in any selected indentation of the post. Different means are disclosed for drawing the rib into a selected indentation and for locking the parts in interfitting relationship.

Abstract: A removable storage compartment which includes a plurality of tape pockets in the front thereof intermediate a pair of side utility pockets and elastic straps secured to each end of the utility pockets and removably fastened at their free ends behind the back wall of the vehicle's front seat.

Abstract: A cargo transporting device comprises a flat deck container having at opposite ends upwardly extending partial walls cooperating with hinged bulkheads which in an upright position provide continuous vertical walls at the ends of the platform. The hinged bulkheads are movable to stored positions on the deck of the device wherein the low height walls provide supports for stacking a plurality of the same type of container or device. The deck or platform of the containers are provided with a plurality of twist lock assemblies which are movable from operative positions locking containers on the platform to stored positions below the deck.

Abstract: A console has a receiver for a gun barrel and a groove in the front of a cover to hold the stock of a rifle, when the console is open. The console has an access door in the cover to use the console to store articles when not carrying guns.

Abstract: Modular units for mounting on vertical surfaces such as walls are provided which are mounted by engaging a tongue in the upwardly opening channel of the elongated bar, which bar extends into a recess provided in the units.

Abstract: A collapsible combined table and seat assembly including an improved collapsible linkage for rigidly supporting the seats and for supporting the table on the seats. The linkages rely on knock down rigid triangular structures, one for supporting each seat and one extending between the seats and the table top.

Abstract: A fare box for use in a public transport system fitted with a first slot in the upper section of the housing for receipt of coins and fitted with a second slot in the side of the housing for receipt of paper bills. A pair of engaged rollers are mounted in the housing adjacent the second slot with the rollers driven by a pulley from a motor for feeding paper bills, pushed into the slot, into the interior of the housing.

Abstract: A panic exit door locking mechanism adapted particularly for mounting on a narrow stile door frame, and which includes top and bottom bolt mechanisms respectively at the upper and lower ends of the tubular frame at the swinging edge of the door, the locking instrumentalities including a rotatable lever arrangement concealed within the tubular stile, and being connected to the bolt mechanisms by concealed rod structures that are length adjustable for doors of different heights. Actuators for the rotatable lever arrangement comprise a manually operable panic exit actuator device mounted on the inner side of the door and/or a conventional key-controlled rotatable cam lever having a lost motion relation with the rotatable lever arrangement.

Abstract: A multiple hanger for garments such as blouses, shirts and the like, includes a plurality of generally parallel hanger elements on which the garments are hung. A connecting rod is pivotally connected to each of the hanger elements, and a guiding rod is pivotally connected to each of the hanger elements parallel to and spaced from the connecting rod to thereby provide a parallelogrammatic linkage such that the hangers are pivotal simultaneously in parallel array.

Abstract: A truss for supporting cages in a poultry cage system comprises a pair of inclined upstanding legs and a series of vertically-spaced horizontal cross-members connected thereto by novel clips which are specially designed to enable the cross-members to be connected to the legs with a minimum of labor. Opposite ends of each cross-member have a pair of spaced apertures which register with a pair of similarly-spaced apertures in the truss legs. The clip has a front flange with a pair of rearwardly turned lugs which are received in the leg and arm apertures and which have hooks located below the lower edges of the apertures. The legs also have holes located below their apertures and below the lower edge of the cross-member, and the clip has a deformable angulated tab depending from the lower portion of the flange and extending into the holes in the legs.

Abstract: A display stand for displaying samples of carpet bound in a book format may be assembled by the user thereof and includes a generally U-shaped base member, a vertical member, a pair of leg members sloped to support the lower portion of the book and maintain the vertical member upright, and a support member adapted to receive the upper edge portion of the book wherein the carpet samples bound therein may be readily viewed by an observer.

Abstract: A stand which is capable of holding both gramophone records and magnetic tape cassette cases. The stand comprises a baseplate having side walls or other members projecting upwardly therefrom to define, with the top of the baseplate, gramophone record receiving compartments. The projecting members are so formed as to provide a stable support for the stand in an inverted position exposing the underside of the baseplate, cassette case holding means being provided on the thus exposed underside of the baseplate.

Abstract: An angle member is attached to the intersecting side walls of a pinball game by means of screws or the like. A channel member is fixedly attached, as by welding, adjacent to the interior corner of the angle member, the corners of the channel defining stops in contact with the intersecting side walls. A leg having substantially perpendicular flanges is in juxtaposition with the flanges of the angle. Screws attach the legs to the channel.

Abstract: An improved pallet and, particularly, an improved post construction for a pallet which can be easily and quickly affixed thereto. In addition, a roller is provided about the posts for reducing the tendency of fork tines from damaging or otherwise impairing the posts.
