    Abstract: Device for locking a cowl with double security, comprising panel securing means, constituted by a plate integral with the panel and having a conical hole, as well as by a conical stop integral with the fixed structure and which enters the plate hole when the panel is in the closed position. Locking means are constituted by a locking bush or flange integral with the fixed structure, a support mounted on the panel, a bolt mounted in pivotable manner on the support and able to engage in the locking bush when the panel is in the closed position. Elastic means draw the bolt towards the disengaged position of the locking bush. A pawl mounted on the support locks the bolt in the engaged position.

    Abstract: A door latch (24) suitable for latching a door (20) to a door frame (22). The door latch (24), in a preferred embodiment, has an adjustable nose bolt (36); is "panic unlatchable"; and can be operated by axial or rotational spindle forces supplied by, for example, a push button (48) or a door knob (120). The latch apparatus (24) preferably includes an adjustable nose bolt (36) which is adjustable in and out relative to the spindle (50). A trunnion (58) interposed between the inside handle (46) and the nose bolt (36) allows for relative adjustment of the nose bolt (36) with respect to the handle (46). In addition, a preferred embodiment of the latch apparatus (24) includes a lock lever (100) which forms a recess (108) suitable for capturing a spindle ear (110) to substantially prevent the spindle from operating the latch apparatus (24) to move the nose bolt (36) from a first position to a second position.

    Abstract: A child proof safety latch for a cabinet door or drawer. The safety latch includes a base plate receivable on the door, with a hook extending from the base plate to engage the cabinet. A holding plate is provided to locate the base plate, and the holding plate and base plate have teeth for ratchet adjustment of the base plate. A screw passes through the holding plate and the base plate to secure the latch to the door, and the latch is rotatable to place the hook in a position so the hook will not engage the cabinet. The latch therefore has an operable position and an inoperable position.

The pin and the recess also serve to hold the head in a fixed axial position with reference to the shank. Transverse movement of the lock pin is controlled by a simple lock mechanism including a key operated lock shaft having a rocker arm rotatable therewith and having a free end connected to the lock pin for transverse movement of the lock pin in response to rotation of the lock shaft.

    Abstract: A cylinder lock having a plurality of plate-like tumblers, each of which is carried by the lock barrel to rotate therewith and each being adapted to locate within a respective locking recess provided in the lock body and thereby hold the barrel against rotation relative to the body. The tumbler plates are movable laterally relative to the barrel axis so as to be capable of removal from their respective locking recesses and thereby free the barrel for rotation. A locking pin interconnects the tumbler plates so that they move in unison between their barrel locking and release positions, and a plurality of rotatable discs interacts with that pin to control its ability to move radially inwards and thereby free the tumbler plates from their locking recesses. Each disc has a peripheral notch which must be located adjacent the locking pin to allow the aforementioned radial inward movement.

    Abstract: The combination lock is one wherein movable members of the combination mechanism are set in decoding position by a key in the form of a rotatable shaft with a head at one end serving as a handle. Rotation of the key to proper decoding position is determined by shifting an index mark on the key relative to selected units of a set of letters or numerals on the lock housing. The combination mechanism makes use of a multiple number of pairs of discs concealed in the housing which must be successively set in proper decoding position, one disc relative to the other, to release a lock operating plug. In proper decoding position a slide bar, which normally blocks rotation of the lock operating plug, is shifted by key action into openings provided in the discs and out of blocking engagement with the plug, in which position the plug is free for rotation by the key.
