Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling a networked display via a client device are provided. The client device and the networked display are connected by a network. A session is initiated between the client device and the networked display, and a remote user interface is transmitted from the networked display to the client device. Interactivity with the remote user interface is detected at the client device, and input data is transmitted from the client device to the networked display based on the interactivity with the remote user interface. The input data is interpreted at the networked display so as to cause a change in a state of an application being executed by the networked display. And the remote user interface is updated based on the changed state of the application executed by the networked display.

Abstract: At a multifunction device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface, a plurality of objects are displayed on the display. The plurality of objects have a first layer order. A first contact is detected at a location on the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to a location of a respective object of the plurality of objects. While detecting the first contact, a gesture that includes a second contact is detected on the touch-sensitive surface. In response to detecting the gesture, the plurality of objects are reordered in accordance with the gesture to create a second layer order that is different from the first layer order. In some embodiments, the position of the respective object within the first order is different from the position of the respective object within the second order.

Abstract: A method, system, and graphical user interface (GUI) for management of application programs on a portable electronic device (PED) is discussed. A management application program operating on a computing device can provide management of the application programs on the PED by presenting a GUI. The user can interact with the GUI to (i) manage (e.g., position applications, arrange applications, add applications, and the like) the application programs, and (ii) arrange application icons on the PED.

Abstract: In certain exemplary embodiments, data representative of a proximity heuristic specifying a plurality of levels of an object detection zone associated with a display screen is maintained, an object is detected within the object detection zone, one or more of the levels are selected based on one or more attributes of the object, and an action associated with the selected one or more levels is performed. In certain examples, the action includes modifying a graphical user interface view displayed on the display screen.

Abstract: A display apparatus and display method are provided. The display apparatus includes an image receiving unit which receives a 2D or 3D image, an image outputting unit which displays the 2D or 3D image received through the image receiving unit, an OSD processing unit which generates an OSD picture overlapped with and shown on the 2D or 3D image displayed through the image outputting unit, and a control unit which controls the OSD processing unit to adjust a transparency of the OSD picture when the 3D image is displayed through the image outputting unit.

Abstract: An electronic device concurrently displays a plurality of user interface objects and a list of folder icons. The list of folder icons includes a first new folder icon. The device detects a first input by a user using a first user input device, selects a folder icon in the list of folder icons in accordance with the first input, and indicates selection of the folder icon in the list of folder icons. The device also detects a second input by the user using a second user input device on one or more of the displayed user interface objects, moves the one or more user interface objects into a folder that corresponds to the selected folder icon, and when the selected folder icon is the first new folder icon, displays a second new folder icon in the list of folders icons.

Abstract: Tabs or other display elements that do not comply with traditional “window” requirements can be individually presented to a user when the window containing such tabs or other display elements is hidden or obscured. The user can be enabled to perform tab-specific actions, such as closing a particular tab, or viewing a specific tab without interacting with the containing window. Executing processes utilizing such tabs can register them and provide order and display information. Subsequent tab-specific actions can be received and directed to such executing processes. Additional requests, such as for thumbnails and bitmaps, can be directed to such executing processes in order to implement the tab presentation mechanisms and to provide for the tab-specific actions.

Abstract: A method of controlling a mobile terminal, and which includes displaying a data list including at least one data item in a display window of a touch screen on the terminal, displaying at least one icon corresponding to a first application that is executed by the terminal, displaying a graphic user interface (GUI) corresponding to the first application on the display window of the touch screen as the icon is touched and dragged on the touch screen, and controlling at least one of a position and a size of the displayed data list such that a region where the GUI is displayed and a region where the data list is displayed are not overlapped with each other when the GUI is displayed as the icon is touched and dragged on the touch screen.

Abstract: A portable electronic device displays a plurality of icons on a touch-sensitive display. The plurality of icons includes a folder icon that corresponds to a folder that contains a plurality of items. The folder icon includes respective selectable item indicators for at least some of the items in the folder. The device detects a finger gesture on the touch-sensitive display at a location that corresponds to the folder icon. In response to detecting the finger gesture on the touch-sensitive display at the location that corresponds to the folder icon, the device determines a respective item in the plurality of items in the folder that corresponds to the detected finger gesture and activates the respective item.

Abstract: A digital paper-enabled product includes digital paper with a digital pattern that spatially cooperates with one or more features or boundaries printed on the pattern. More specifically, a system cooperating with the product may include spatial information systems that manage the features or boundaries and communicates with a writing instrument that was used to effect changes to the digital paper-enabled product. In one embodiment, the digital paper-enabled product may take the form of a sheet of digital paper bearing a digital pattern and where action icons (e.g. user intended actions) and/or features (e.g. such as map features) or a spatial reference frame are printed onto the digital pattern and where at least one action palette is printed onto the digital pattern, correlated therewith, and usable to effect changes to the product.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for creating and executing a custom action in a workflow generated by an application program executing on a computer system. The application program may receive a selection of a custom action to execute in the workflow in a user interface generated by the application program. The application program may translate the custom action into a user interface button for executing the custom action in the workflow. The application program may display the button for executing the custom action in the workflow. The application program may also resolve references to external content in a shared workflow document by communicating with a workflow engine to register a callback function for receiving a location of the shared workflow document on a remote computer system. The workflow engine may send the location of the shared workflow document to the application program to enable access to the external content.

Abstract: An information processing system can be provided in accordance with an aspect of the invention which includes a processor and instructions executable by the processor to perform a method. Such method can be performed, for example, by receiving user input in response to prompts on a display, wherein the user input identifies a processable medical item (e.g., a medical sample or medical product). The user input can select each of a plurality of discrete actions for handling the medical item. The actions can have an at least implied order to be performed. Based on the received user input, identification information can be stored which identifies the medical item. Action information can also be stored which represents the selected actions. Then, a flow diagram can be displayed with at least some of the action information and at least some of the identification information.

Abstract: A computer readable medium (CRM) storing a media editing application providing a consolidated editing tool is described. The application includes a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI has a display area for displaying a composite presentation that the application creates by compositing a plurality of media clips, a composite display area for displaying graphical representations of a set of media clips that are part of the composite presentation, and a consolidated editing tool that provides several user-selectable editing operations within the composite display area. In some embodiments, the consolidated editing tool automatically presents an associated editing operation for selection and activation based on the cursor location within the composite display area.

Spatially resolved image information are generated with the at least one imaging device depending on the group of measurement parameters. The image information is stored on a storage medium. The image information is presented as data symbols on a screen of the user interface. Multiple data symbols are presented in a predetermined arrangement on the screen for a medical assessment. An interest value is generated for each of the multiple data symbols with enlarged or reduced presentation of data symbols with higher interest value occurring relative to adjacent data symbols with lower interest value, such that the arrangement of the data symbols with lower interest value in n columns and m rows and at their respective size is maintained.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide for a Virtual Environment that receives content associated with a first user and stores the content for presentation to a second user. When the second user accesses the virtual community, the Virtual Environment transmits the content for display of the content to the second user. The Virtual Environment receives data (e.g. ratings, feedback) associated with the content from the second user(s). The Virtual Environment processes the received data from the second user in order to determine an amount of reward for the first user. The Virtual Environment allows the first user to use the amount of reward (e.g. virtual money) towards obtaining one or more features that allow the first user to modifying the content.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to attaching an external virtual universe to an existing virtual universe. A method for enhancing a preexisting virtual universe (VU) in a computerized system may include providing an external virtual universe in a second computerized system, where the external virtual universe is configured so as to be attachable to the first, preexisting virtual universe. As a result, residents of virtual universes can create, run, and/or host their real estate, inventory items, and/or avatars (including all necessary geometries, textures, scripts, etc.) using their own computing devices, which may be inserted, attached, and detached from the VU grid.

Abstract: The described implementations relate to dynamically painting user-controls. One method dynamically determines a highlight color of a user-control under a cursor on a graphical user-interface. The method also paints at least a portion of the user-control with the highlight color.
