Abstract: A system and method for opening an account at an institution. First information of a user may be received from a mobile device, and second information of the user may be received from the mobile device, the second information being converted from an image of a primary document. The first information may then be validated against the second information, and an account opened for the user if the first information validates against the second information. The step of receiving first information may include receiving optical character recognition data converted from an image of a secondary document such as a driver's license. The step of receiving second information may include receiving optical character recognition data converted from an image of the primary document such as a personal check, a debit card, a credit card, etc.

Abstract: Pursuant to some embodiments, systems, methods, apparatus and computer program code for proactive underwriting are provided. Pursuant to some embodiments, a computer implemented processing method is provided which includes identifying, by an insurance processing platform, an action by an entity that matches at least a first trigger rule. A proactive underwriting template is selected based on the at least first trigger rule, where the proactive underwriting template defines a number of data items required to complete the proactive underwriting template. The insurance processing platform is operated to automatically collect data associated with the plurality of required data items, and to perform a proactive underwriting analysis using the collected data. An underwriting determination is then rendered based on the proactive underwriting analysis.

Abstract: Systems, methods and articles of manufacture for preparing an electronic tax return for a taxpayer which automatically access tax documents from sources of tax documents, such as financial institutions at which the taxpayer has an account. The system receives a request from a tax preparer for tax data regarding a taxpayer. The system analyzes a prior year tax return for the taxpayer and identifies tax documents used to prepare the tax return. The system identifies the source and the type of tax document. The system generates a request to the taxpayer to access the tax documents for the current tax year. The request allows the taxpayer to provide account credentials to access the tax documents from the source. The system accesses the tax documents from the source using the account credentials. The system converts the tax documents into a standard data structure which is automatically imported into a tax return.

As consistent with one or more example embodiments, near-field communications are effected (150, 152) using a secure payment protocol conforming to a predefined certification standard for the secure payment protocol (100). Communication operability is transmitted (152) under the secure payment protocol and used to identify other protocols/applications under which communications can be effected. This information is used to effect P2P protocol communications (160), where applicable, and to do so while complying with the secure payment protocol.

Determined protocols include routing the purchase request to a designated user with a different authority level for disposition, rejection of the purchase request, or modification of the purchase request in accordance with the determined protocol. A data server may receive, via a computer network, a plurality of telematics data originating from a client computing device and identify primary movement data from the plurality of telematics data. The data server may also measure a total variance from the plurality of telematics data at one or more time stamps and determine an average total variance for an entire trip from the plurality of telematics data. The data server may further normalize total variance at the one or more time stamps using the generated average and determine one or more idling time windows from the normalized total variance.

A collection of hash values representative of previously processed financial documents are maintained in a memory, such as a GPU memory. When a new financial document enters the financial institution or check clearinghouse for processing, one or more features of the financial document are captured. A hash value is generated from the one or more features of the financial document. A search is performed in the collection of hash values for a matching hash value. If a match is found, a potential fraudulent event or operational error may be indicated. If a match is not found, the hash value representative of the new financial document is added to the collection of hash values.

A video/voice processor associated with a tax return preparation application executed by a computing apparatus such as mobile communication device receives a video of a tax document and voice data. The document type is determined using video and/or voice data. Voice to text conversion can be used to determine what a user said about the document to determine the document type. Tax data determined from the video is used to populate a field of the electronic tax return. A front facing camera may be used to take a video of a tax document while a rear facing camera is used to detect a facial expression, which may result in certain dialogue with the user.
