Abstract: A fastener plate for use in coupling an underlayment to a roof surface is disclosed. In use, the fastener plate is arranged and configured to enable subsequently applied liquid coatings to flow through a top surface of the fastener plate and into one or more cavities so that the liquid coating seals any openings created by introduction of the fastener. In one embodiment, the fastener plate may include a top surface, a bottom surface, a fastener opening for receiving a fastener, a plurality of openings formed in the top surface, and one or more cavities positioned between the top surface and the bottom surface, the one or more cavities being in fluid communication with the plurality of openings so that the liquid coating can flow through the plurality of openings formed in the top surface and into the one or more cavities to seal any voids created by the fastener.

Abstract: An apparatus guides first and second assembly components into a predetermined configuration, each assembly component including an opening. When the assembly components are aligned into the predetermined configuration, their openings align to define a cavity for receiving a stepped dowel to fasten the components together. The guiding apparatus includes a stepped dowel member having successively-smaller dowel sections, and a collar member floating around the base of the stepped dowel member. The stepped dowel member tip can be passed through the first assembly component opening and inserted into the second assembly component opening, drawing the components into the predetermined configuration. When the components are aligned into the predetermined configuration, the collar member engages the first assembly component opening and the stepped dowel member engages the second assembly component opening.

Abstract: A window assembly includes a polymer (e.g., polyvinyl chloride, vinyl) window frame made and a glass unit carried by the window frame. The window frame includes a pair of jambs and an astragal that extends between and interconnects the pair of jambs. The jambs have a channel or slot sized to receive therethrough one or more end walls of the astragal so that at least a portion of said one or more end walls extend into a hollow cavity in the jambs that is in fluid communication with one or more weep holes of the window assembly. The one or more end walls of the astragal and channel or slot of the jambs define a flow path configured to channel water from the astragal, through the channel or slot in the jambs and into the hollow cavity such that said water exits the hollow cavity and the window assembly via the one or more weep holes.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for connecting and separating masonry units, preferably bricks, which comprises a tubular body that fits the tubular shape of holes in the bricks. The device for connecting and separating comprises a portion that has a straight cross-section larger than the cross-section of the tubular body and disposed approximately midway along the length of the connector device, for separating the bricks that said device connects. The device also comprises at least one depression or channel along the entire length of the tubular body, the depression or channel acting as a spring. The connector allows walls to be assembled using only bricks and connectors so as to apply mortar ex post.

Abstract: Portable apparatus for application of double-sided sheet adhesive to modular flooring products, includes a planar platform; a flooring guide; a roll of double-sided sheet adhesive unrolled onto the platform for marrying with the modular flooring product; a sheet adhesive guide to maintain the sheet adhesive in alignment with the flooring guide and the modular flooring product, and to tension the sheet adhesive as it is applied to the flooring product; and a press roll to apply pressure to mate the sheet adhesive to the flooring product.

Abstract: A kit for a frame assembly is disclosed. The kit comprises a first frame member, a second frame member, and a first and second counterpart of a corner connector. The first and second counterparts are co-operatively configured for connecting to obtain the corner connector. The first counterpart, the second counterpart, the first frame member, and the second frame member are co-operatively configured for assembly to define the frame assembly. The first frame member is coupled to the second frame member via the obtained corner connector. The corner connector is connected to the first frame member along a first side of the first frame member and is also connected along a second side of the first frame member, and the corner connector is connected to the second frame member along a first side of the second frame member and is also connected along a second side of the second frame member.

Abstract: A mason line fastener includes first and second adjacent outer edges forming a first corner having an outer angle. A first inner surface and second inner surface intersect to form an inner angle. The inner angle is offset from the first outer angle. The first inner surface includes a groove that extends along at least a portion of its length and through the second inner surface and through the second outer edge. A mason line may be wound around a portion of the mason line fastener and threaded through the groove and held taut when placed in connection with a block.

Abstract: A hook and loop system for attaching a roofing membrane into the top of a building insulation board including a roofing membrane with a fleece backing having a release sheet on the fleece backing. The release sheet is manually removed in the field to attach the fleece backing directly onto a layer of hooks that have been pre-attached onto the top of the insulation board. The release layer may be somewhat sticky, yet not adhere too tightly to the fleece layer such that its removal does not damage the fleece backing. The release layer may also be pre-rolled together with the fleece backed roofing membrane and shipped together as a unit into the field.

Abstract: A frame connector for securing a first frame member to a second frame member, the frame connector comprising a first body having a first pair of arms extending along first and second axes from a origin mitre plane to respective free ends; a second body adjacent to the first body and having a contact surface and a second pair of arms extending from the origin mitre plane to respective free ends, and an actuator secured to the first body and arranged to apply a force to the contact surface in a first direction. The first and second axes are non-colinear and define a first plane. The first direction forms an acute angle to the first plane. The actuator is arranged to displace the first body relative to the second body in the first direction.

Abstract: A building sheltering structure is configured to facilitate the shielding of domicile or building into an underground foundation before an emergency environmental condition arises. The foundation includes a cover plate and/or a second plate that translate horizontally to occlude the at least one domicile upon retraction into a secure cavity of the foundation by a lift assembly in the foundation cavity. The cover plate and second plate offer optimal protection to the domicile thereunder for various extreme conditions. Mounted atop the lift assembly, the at least one domicile can be fully retracted into the foundation cavity and completely shielded. The operation of the lift assembly is commanded and powered by a supply system, of which a processor facilitates emergency warnings and panic transmissions to signal for help. Further, a plurality of solar panels mounted atop the at least one domicile keeps the system charged for the use in emergency.

An elongated pull is coupled to the first pulley, the second pulley, and a zipper pull of the zipper.

Abstract: A device for use in creating custom tiles for installation adjacent an angled vertical surface is disclosed. An example device includes first and second elongated members coupled via a hinge configured to selectively prevent pivoting at the hinge. The device further includes a slide piece coupled to the first member and configured to slide lengthwise along the first member. The slide piece may be selectively operated to prevent movement along the first member. The slide piece may further include a body. The body may comprise a longitudinal alignment element and a perpendicular lateral alignment element that together define a recess configured to receive a corner of an installed tile. The body may further include a spacer configured to selectively extend from or retract into the body. The spacer and the lateral alignment element may define a space therebetween.

A set of panels including a first and a second panel, an edge of the second panel is insertable into a groove of the first panel, when the panels are arranged essential perpendicular to each other, to obtain a mechanical connection between the first and the second panel, when the second panel is displaced essentially perpendicularly to the first panel.

Abstract: A novel roof shingle tile and method of installation is presented. The roof shingle may include a first side opposite a second side, a top edge opposite a bottom groove, a top gutter, and a side gutter. The bottom groove may extend along a bottom edge of the tile that includes a bottom edge of the side gutter, and the top edge may include a tongue portion sized to fit within the bottom groove of a vertically adjacent tile. The second side may also include an overhang portion sized to overlap the side gutter of a horizontally adjacent tile. When installed, the shingle tiles may create a water resistant roof surface.
