  • Patent number: 10640674
Abstract: Autonomous detection of damage in a polymer coating is described by utilizing microcapsules in a polymer coating having free and/or residual amines. The microcapsules contain a color indicator, such as 2?,7?-dichlorofluorescein (DCF), bromophenol blue (BPB) or fluorescamine, which is reactive with the free and/or residual amines present in the polymer coating. For coatings without the presence of free and/or residual amines, a color indicator microcapsule can be combined with a second type of microcapsule filled with a base. When sufficient damage is inflicted to the coating, the microcapsules in and/or around an area of the damage will rupture, and the color indicator will react with the free and/or residual amines or the base to autonomically indicate the area in which the coating has been damaged.

  • Patent number: 10641295
Abstract: A method for producing a foam body for a pressure or hydraulic accumulator has a bubble- or diaphragm-shaped, elastically flexible separating layer (12) separating gas and liquid chambers from each other within an accumulator housing. The production method includes introducing a flowable, preferably liquid, foam material into the pressure accumulator with the foam material being at least partially surrounded by the separating layer (12), curing the foam material in the hydraulic accumulator, and building up a pressure gradient in which the visibly curing foam material expands the separating layer (12) from an originally partially filled starting state in the direction of an end state in which the accumulator is finally filled with the cured foam (38).

  • Patent number: 10643589
Abstract: An instrument modeled after a hi hat hi-hat consisting of wood, metal (or other material) and linked material, creating a complex sound effect when closed together, and an “808” (i.e. Roland “808” or similar) snare drum sound when struck with drumstick is disclosed. This invention allows drummers to create complex sounds using the hi-hat pedal (or other mounting device), to lower the Top Hi-hat toward the Bottom Hi-hat and cause the linked material to connect with the “bottom hi-hat.” The claimed device also replaces the standard electronic pad (such as but not limited to the Roland SPDS sampler pad) that recreated the famous “808” (i.e. Roland “808” or similar) handclap sound. Variations of the invention is meant to be used either alongside the traditional metal hi-hat or in lieu of the traditional metal hi-hat.

  • Patent number: 10645108
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for tracking and validating behavior and communication patterns of sensors connected to an Internet-of-Things (“IoT”) network. Preferably, trusted IoT sensors monitor communication patterns exhibited by other trusted and/or untrusted sensors. An untrusted monitored sensor may be assigned a trusted status based on applying artificial intelligence and/or machine learning algorithm to monitored and/or historical communication patterns exhibited by the monitored sensor. A trusted group of sensors may continue to grow by adding other trusted sensors. If a compromised sensor is detected, a silo may be erected around the compromised sensor. The silo may include disconnecting the compromised sensor from the network. After erecting the silo, communication patterns exhibited by the compromised sensor may be continue to be monitored. After a pre-determined time period the compromised sensor may be reassigned a trusted status or purged from the trusted group and/or network.

  • Patent number: 10639705
Abstract: A method of fabricating a finished part includes generating or creating a master pattern using an additive manufacturing process, and the master pattern corresponds in shape to the finished part. A shell is created by applying one or more layers of one or more coating materials to the master pattern. The master pattern is then dissolved while the master pattern is in the shell to create a cavity in the shell that corresponds in shape to the finished part. A molten material is then poured into the cavity of the shell. The molten metal is allowed to cool and to harden and/or to reach a determined temperature such that the molten metal becomes the finished part. The shell is then removed from around the finished part.

  • Patent number: 10641974
Abstract: Provided a two-dimensional photonic crystal device in which are inserted three waveguides and one resonant cavity by the creation of linear and local defects. Due to the photonic band gap related to the photonic crystal, electromagnetic signals are confined to the interior of waveguides and resonant cavity. By exciting dipole modes in the resonant cavity, with orientation that depends on the intensity of the applied DC magnetic field, the present circulator device can provide the nonreciprocal transmission of signals in the clockwise and counterclockwise directions. It can fulfill the isolation function and it is fork-shaped, providing greater flexibility in the design of integrated optical communication systems.

  • Patent number: 10644085
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a self-luminous display panel, includes: preparing a substrate; forming banks above the substrate; detecting a bank having a defect portion; determining, with respect to the detected bank, only one of two adjacent spaces as a repair target space; forming a dam structure in the repair target space; and forming light-emitting layers. The banks are elongated and extend in a column direction, and are arranged in a row direction with spaces therebetween. The two adjacent spaces are each located between the detected bank and an adjacent bank. The dam structure is located within a predetermined distance from the defect portion, and at least partially surrounds the defect portion or is composed of a pair of dam elements disposed with the defect portion therebetween in the column direction. The light-emitting layers are formed by applying inks to the spaces between the banks. The inks contain self-luminous materials.
