Abstract: A method for personalizing a SIM card may include loading the SIM card on a conveyor belt of a production machine, programming the SIM card, and unloading the programmed SIM card from the conveyor belt. If the intermediate result is wrong, the method may check an intermediate result of the programming and re-program the SIM card.
Abstract: A tool path display apparatus, configured to display a three-dimensional path of a movable part of a machine tool, calculates three-dimensional coordinate values of the movable part as viewed from a coordinate system secured to a workpiece, thereby determining the three-dimensional path of the movable part. Left- and right-eye stereoscopic image data are determined based on the determined three-dimensional path of the movable part, and the determined left- and right-eye stereoscopic image data are displayed on the display apparatus so that they can be viewed by an operator's left and right eyes, respectively.
Abstract: An air conditioning method that reduces the amount of cooling energy and the amount of dehumidification energy to approximately a limiting amount, and also reduces the amount of humidifying energy to approximately a limiting amount. If an absolute humidity of the process air is calculated by use of measurements of changes in work conditions and variations in atmospheric pressure, the required amount of air to be cooled and dehumidified flowing downstream through the main-stream duct and the required amount of humidification can be determined. Therefore, by outputting a signal indicative of the required amount of cooled-dehumidified air to actuate a controller of flow-rate regulating means, and outputting a signal indicative of the required amount of humidification to actuate a controller of humidifying means, the amount of air to be cooled and dehumidified can be reduced to the required amount of cooled-dehumidified air close to the limiting amount.
Abstract: A control method for a mechanical vibration system independently modifies the higher and lower frequency components of the drive signal satisfying a target profile in a manner that limits displacement in the driven vibration. In particular, phases of the lower frequency components in a preliminary drive spectrum are independently adjusted so that peaks of the respective components are non-simultaneous and distributed in time to avoid contributing constructively. For example, the lower frequency components may be applied as a filter to a narrow-band time waveform, such as one with a swept frequency, to obtain the lower-frequency time waveform. The higher frequency components are randomized in their phase, transformed into the time domain, and recombined with the lower frequency part to obtain the drive signal.
Abstract: Various embodiments include computer-implemented methods of modeling production for a semiconductor foundry. One method includes: obtaining a multi-part order including: a first order for a fixed number of preliminary products; and a second order for a fixed number of completed products formed from the fixed number of preliminary products; and determining an amount of inventory required to fulfill the first order and the second order, wherein the determining includes: creating a first model including a first inventory amount required to meet the first order; and creating a second model including a second inventory amount required to meet the second order, wherein the second model accounts for results from the first model, including the first inventory amount; and running a single linear programming (LP) process using the first model and the second model to determine the amount of inventory required to fulfill the first order.
Abstract: A power flow problem (OPF) in an electric power network is globally optimized using a branch and bound tree of nodes connected by edges. The BB initially includes at least a root node, and each node represents a feasible region of limits on voltages and powers. An upper bound on the OPF problem is solved for selected nodes using nonlinear programming, while a lower bound is solved using a convex relaxation. The lowest upper and lower bounds are updated using the current upper and lower bound. If a difference between the lowest upper and lowest lower bound is less than a threshold, then outputting the voltages and the powers for the electric power network as represented by the feasibility region for the selected node. Otherwise, the feasible region of the node is partitioned to replace the node. The process is repeated until the tree is empty.
