Abstract: A method is provided that receives an image that includes graphical metadata for specifying alignment information. The method renders the image by using the alignment information. Rendering the image by using the alignment information includes positioning text on the image, aligning the image with another image, and identifying visual boundaries of the rendered image. The graphical metadata includes a geometric shape that specifies a region on the image where the text is to be rendered. The alignment metadata also specifies a maximum size for text rendered on the image. In some embodiments, the image is a multi-layer image that includes a first layer for the image and a second layer for the graphical metadata. In some embodiments, the layer that includes the graphical metadata is designated to include graphical metadata. The graphical metadata is not rendered on a graphical user interface where the image is rendered.

The content update is verified as a function of the component static content elements and a manifest file. The application is reconfigured to execute as a function of the updated static content elements.

Abstract: Techniques for segregating one or more logs of at least one multitasking user to derive at least one behavioral pattern of the at least one multitasking user are provided. The techniques include obtaining at least one of at least one action log, configuration information, domain knowledge, at least one task history and open task repository information, correlating the at least one of at least one action log, configuration information, domain knowledge, at least one task history and open task repository information to determine a task associated with each of one or more actions and segregate the one or more logs based on the one or more actions, and using the one or more logs that have been segregated to derive at least one behavioral pattern of the at least one multitasking user. Techniques are also provided for deriving intelligence from at least one activity log of at least one multitasking user to provide information to the at least one user.

The function is associated with a target item according to information written in a selection item. The function executing method may include detecting an event related to a selection item and a target item among a plurality of menu items. The method then parses, upon detecting the event text information of the selection item. The method then executes a function associated with the target item according to the parsed text information.

Abstract: Roughly described, different drawing regions are opened for different users on the same whiteboard. Each drawing region has its own set of line appearance properties, which the user can set with a toolbar. Lines drawn in a drawing region adopt the line appearance properties then in effect for that drawing region, which also apply to replications of the line on other devices in the collaboration session. As the user draws toward a boundary of the user's drawing region, the boundary automatically moves so that the drawing continues to contain the user's drawing activity.

Abstract: A stage-based user interface for a mobile device may include a sequence of panels that each include a cluster or grouping of items, such as graphical links, application shortcuts, representations of documents, or representations of other data associated with the mobile device. The panels in the sequence of panels may be grouped so that panels that are related or that include similar items may be placed next to one another in the sequence of panels. In one implementation, the device may particularly display a graphical window that presents a panel selected from a sequence of panels, the panels in the sequence of panels each associated with a group of items and the sequence of panels having an order determined at least partially by the groups of items associated with the panels.

In an exemplary embodiment, the control comprises a radial control at one of a plurality of user-selectable radial distances from a center of the jog control, the radial distance indicative of a jog control scale factor, wherein selection of the radial control selects and fixes the jog control scale factor until the control area is unselected, and wherein rotation of the selected radial control about a center of the jog control commands navigation through the plurality of media program frames at a rate determined by the selected jog control scale factor and an angular rate of the selected radial control about the center of the jog control.

Abstract: The present invention provides a document processing method and system which implement display that improves efficiency and usability of edit operations when inserting, moving, or copying and pasting data, by taking full advantage of the feature of retaining data and set values hierarchically in the system. In document processing for editing a document consisting of multiple sets of original data, when a user moves a graphic object which represents a desired original by dragging it on the document in order to move or copy the desired original data to a certain position on the document, the present invention detects the boundary between originals in the document, nearest to the position of the cursor dragging the graphic object which represents the desired original, and displays an identifiable mark on the boundary between originals in the document.

An application is run, the application having a work area in a Graphical User Interface (GUI). The application includes at least one palette associated therewith. A cursor can be operated within the work area. Abstract: A method and system for managing overlapping windows on a computer screen of a computer system. A hook filter intercepts an event that has occurred. An association of the hook filter with the event was established prior to the occurrence of the event. The event is characterized by an overlapping condition in which a floating window partially or totally overlaps an active window on the computer screen. A software application is associated with the active window. Response to intercepting the event, the hook filter detects the overlapping condition. Response to detecting the overlapping condition, the hook filter eliminates the overlapping condition to make the active window totally visible.

Abstract: The shifting and recharging of an emotional state with word sequencing is disclosed. A selection of a first word sequence set is received from the user. The word sequence set is defined by a mood recharging characteristic value, and includes a plurality of words each with at least one corresponding definition. A first one of the plurality of words in the selected first word sequence set is displayed. Then, a first one of the at least one corresponding definition of the first one of the plurality of words in the first word sequence set is displayed while the first one of the plurality of words remains displayed. The definition remains displayed for a time duration corresponding to a predefined cadence rate value. The user is prompted with a question related to the mood recharging characteristic value and associated with the first word sequence set.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for managing a plurality of applications via a single interface. It is initially identified as to which of a plurality of applications are installed on a computer. A status of each of the applications is then presented via a single graphical user interface.
