  • Patent number: 10178277
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes an authenticator that authenticates a user, an operation acceptor that, during a period in which an operating user is logged in, accepts an operation by the operating user, a setter that sets a setting value, a log-out detector that detects log-out of the operating user, a setting value maintainer that, in the case where the log-out is detected, associates a setting value, which is set at a time point at which the log-out is detected, with the operating user, and a recoverer that, in the case where the operating user associated with the setting value stored is authenticated, sets a setting value to the setting value stored in the setting value maintainer, wherein the setting value maintainer, in the case where a user different from the operating user associated with the setting value stored is authenticated, does not delete the stored setting value.

  • Patent number: 8274690
Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for a communication device operable pursuant to a push content communication scheme. An instruction detector detects a message containing a instruction by which to operate upon push content. The message is, for instance, generated by a mobile station at which an application associated with the content is resident. Once detected by the instruction detector, a content operator operates upon the content in a manner corresponding to the instruction contained in the detected message. Once operated upon, the content is stored at a storage element, available when an application of which the content is associated, becomes active.

  • Patent number: 7161700
Abstract: When there is a request for provision of print data from a client 200, server 120 requests client 200 for printer characteristics information representing print characteristics of a printer 210. When client 200 transmits printer characteristics information to server 120, server 120 sets a print data generating process condition in accordance with the printer characteristics information. A server 120 then generates, in accordance with the set print data generating process condition, print data for use by printer 210, and transmits it to client 200. Client 200 transfers the print data provided from server 120 as-is to printer 210 and causes it to execute printing.

  • Patent number: 7130073
Abstract: Patterns are processed minimizing resources such as memory and/or processing power. According to one aspect, when a pattern object is received with the same identifier as that of an earlier received pattern, a count is maintained reflecting a number of times the earlier pattern is to be used in rendering. When the earlier pattern is used as many times as the count in the rendering operations, the earlier pattern is deleted from the memory. According to another aspect, when two patterns are defined based on the same pattern data, the pattern is stored in a common storage area, and a pointer is maintained to the storage area from both the patterns. According to another aspect, even if a pattern is to be used only in the expanded form while rendering, the pattern is stored in non-expanded form until the time of rendering to minimize memory consumption.
