  • Patent number: 8194531
Abstract: A method is provided for receiving a received signal corresponding to a multicarrier signal transmitted by at least one transmitter via a transmission channel. The multicarrier signal is formed by a temporal succession of symbols consisting of a set of data elements including informative data elements with real values, and pilots for at least some of the symbols. Due to groups of at least two pilots being respectively located in an adjacent region in the time/frequency space, the reception method includes a step of extracting at least two complex values corresponding the pilots of the group of the adjacent region, once they have passed through the transmission channel, and a step of estimating the transmission channel in the adjacent region on the basis of the complex values. The modulation used is the type of OFDM OQAM.

  • Patent number: 8154989
Abstract: A method of processing data within a controller for a network can include identifying frames within a data stream within the network (1110) and detecting a deadlock state according to a number of consecutive frames comprising at least one set control bit (1130). The method can include, responsive to detecting the deadlock state, adjusting the at least one control bit within a current frame (1135). Adjusting the at least one control bit clears the deadlock state and generates a modified frame. The modified frame can be output to at least one node within the network (1140).

  • Patent number: 8130680
Abstract: A method for timing a full duplex pulsed wireless communication system between first and second transceivers is disclosed. At least one of the transceivers is mobile. A propagation time between the first and second transceivers is calculated. A pulse period of the first transceiver is set to be twice the propagation time divided by an integer. The second transceiver's pulse period is set to be equal to the pulse period of the first transceiver to enable the first and second transceivers to transmit and receive pulses with a substantially reduced risk of a collision between pulses transmitted from the first and second transceivers.

  • Patent number: 8130649
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide flow control of incoming data packets to data processing resources via a controller that can receive and react to advanced backpressure messages. These advanced backpressure messages are used to rate limit the data packets based one or more of the following factors: traffic class, traffic priority, destination port. The controller can also generate a traffic preference message to an upstream source of the data packets to inform the upstream unit of the most appropriate type of data that should be transmitted downstream at that time, thereby improving the likelihood of the transmitted data being processed in a proper and timely manner by the downstream data processing resources. Embodiments of the invention can improve the performance of a communications system during periods of congestion by ensuring that high-priority traffic has precedence over traffic of lower priority while maximizing utilization of the ingress data path bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 8107471
Abstract: Disclosed herewith is a communication system, which can solve the following conventional problem that if packets exchanged between a terminal and an HA are encapsulated with use of the mobile IPv6 protocol, the PDSN cannot identify any IP flows in the mobile IPv6 tunnel. Consequently, there is no QoS usable appropriately to the services in the EV-D0 RAN. To solve such a problem, the PCRF notifies the HA of the filter information used to specify each IP flow and the flow label assigned to each IP flow. The HA then sets the flow label in the outer IPv6 header of the packet matching with the filter information and transfers the packet to the object unit. The PDSN then refers to the flow label set in the outer IPv6 header to identify the object IP flow in the mobile IPv6 tunnel. Consequently, a proper QoS can be usable for the services respectively in the EV-D0 RAN.

  • Patent number: 7756013
Abstract: A packet switching system capable of ensuring the sequence and continuity of packets and further compensating for delays in transmission is disclosed. Each of two redundant switch sections has a high-priority queue and a low-priority queue for each of output ports. A high-priority output selector selects one of two high-priority queues corresponding to respective ones of the two switch sections to store an output of the selected one into a high-priority output queue. A low-priority output selector selects one of two low-priority queues corresponding to respective ones of the two switch sections to store an output of the selected one into a low-priority output queue. The high-priority and low-priority output selectors are controlled depending on a system switching signal and a packet storing status of each of the high-priority and low-priority queues.
