Abstract: A reciprocating saw including a motor defining a motor axis, the motor including a front end and a back end, the front end including a front face defining a first vertical plane, and the back end including a rear face defining a second vertical plane parallel to the first vertical plane. The reciprocating saw also includes a dual-eccentric scotch yoke mechanism coupled to the motor. The scotch yoke mechanism includes a spindle driven to reciprocate relative to the motor along a spindle axis parallel to the motor axis, the spindle including a rear end nearest to the motor. The scotch yoke mechanism also includes a counterweight driven to reciprocate relative to the motor. The spindle is arranged above the motor. As the spindle reciprocates forward and backward, the rear end extends into a space defined between the first and second vertical planes.

Abstract: A hand-held power tool may include a rotatable work tool with a center, a circumference and a direction of rotation. The power tool may further include a blade guard arrangement arranged to shield a variable part of the rotatable work tool which may include a blade guard and a swiveling cover part attached to the blade guard. In a first position, the swiveling cover part may be positioned such that a first portion of the circumference is covered, following the blade guard, and extending an angular distance after the blade guard, in the direction of rotation. The swiveling cover part may be moveable between the first position and a second position where a cutting operation of the rotatable work tool along the first portion of the circumference occurs. The cover part may be biased towards the first position.

Abstract: A positioning assembly is provided to position a pipe machining apparatus on a pipe so that a miter cut can be performed. The pipe machining apparatus includes a frame, a tool carrier rotatably mounted to the frame, wherein the frame and tool carrier define a longitudinal central axis, a plurality of couplers equally spaced around the frame and coupled to the frame, each coupler being configured to be moved radially relative to the frame and the tool carrier to engage a surface of the pipe and further being configured to move the frame and the tool carrier parallel to the longitudinal central axis, and a scale on the tool carrier, the scale being configured to display the distance between the frame and tool carrier and the surface of the pipe. The method of using same is provided.

Abstract: An electric circular saw includes a housing, a motor including a motor shaft enabled to rotate about a first rotation axis, and a transmission assembly including a first transmission member and a second transmission member. The motor shaft has a first end and a second end oppositely arranged in a longitudinal direction and the first transmission member is mounted to the second end of the motor shaft. In a coordinate system having an origin defined by a point on a center line of the second transmission member, a positive direction of an X axis defined by a forward direction of the electric circular, and a positive direction of a Y axis defined by an upper side of the electric circular saw, the second end of the motor shaft is arranged in a first quadrant of the coordinate system.

Abstract: A longitudinal pipe cutting tool includes a holder having a cutting wheel rotatable in a cutting plane along a longitudinal direction of a work piece. The longitudinal pipe cutting tool also including an actuator configured to move at least one of the holder or the work piece toward each other or away from each other, and a body coupled with the actuator. The body also slideable coupled with the holder such that the holder extends away from the body transverse to the longitudinal direction of the work piece and the cutting plane.

Abstract: A double-ended parting cutting insert. The cutting insert includes two cutting portions at opposite ends thereof which are oriented at 90° to each other. The cutting insert includes a pair of rake and support engagement grooves, the rake and support engagement grooves of each one of the pair converging in a direction away from a respective cutting portion. An insert holder includes a clamping portion having a resilient upper clamping jaw having an upper engagement ridge and a lower base jaw having a lower engagement ridge. A gap therebetween forms an insert receiving slot that has a slot opening. The upper and lower engagement ridges converge in a direction away from the slot opening. When the cutting insert is releasably attached to the insert holder, to constitute a fastened position of a cutting tool, the cutting insert is located in the insert receiving slot and resiliently clamped therein.

Abstract: A method of medical treatment for transecting a ring trapped on an appendage of a patient is described. The method of medical treatment includes inserting a safety guard between the appendage and a portion of the ring, activating a blade motor to rotate a rotary blade aligned with the safety guard, sensing status readings, and transecting the portion of the ring including automatically directing a safety guard actuator to move the safety guard, based at least in part on the status readings, toward the rotary blade thereby urging the ring into contact with the rotary blade.

Abstract: An improvement for a power tool having a motor-driven working tool for performing an operation on a workpiece includes a material sensor positioned to sense the workpiece prior to operation by the working tool. The material sensor is configured to determine a material property of the workpiece and to generate a signal in response thereto. A processor coupled between the material sensor and the motor is configured to control the motor in response to the signal generated by the material sensor.

The base plate includes a base plate plane surface. The fan shield includes a flow guide part and a fitting part. The fitting part is connected to the gearbox. The transmission assembly includes a worm and a worm gear. A tip diameter of the worm is greater than or equal to 20 mm and less than or equal to 30 mm and a tip diameter of the worm gear is greater than or equal to 20 mm and less than or equal to 35 mm. When the electric circular saw has a maximum cutting depth, a vertical distance between a center of the worm gear and the base plate plane surface is less than or equal to 25.5 mm.

Abstract: A securing structure of a folding knife includes a blade and a handle. The blade is pivotally connected to the handle and has a pivotal connection end provided with a first engaging groove and a second engaging groove. The handle has two opposite sides each provided with a first guide hole. A stop block is provided in the handle and has a stop surface for abutting against an abutting surface of the blade. The stop block also has an inclined guide surface. The inclined guide surface is adjacent to the first guide holes and is inclined in a direction from the upper handle edges toward the front handle ends. A pin extends through the two first guide holes and can be engaged in either one of the first and the second engaging grooves and thereby clamped between a wall portion of the engaging groove and the inclined guide surface.

Abstract: Machines for cutting products and impellers therefor. Such an impeller is adapted to be coaxially mounted within a cutting head for rotation therein. The impeller includes a lower plate having a paddle that directs material placed on the lower plate in a radially outward direction of the impeller when the impeller is rotated. A recess in the lower plate is continuous between upper and lower surfaces of the lower plate and contiguous with the perimeter of the lower plate to define a passageway to enable debris at the upper surface to exit the impeller therethrough. A chute is located at an outer radial extent of the paddle and defines a first opening adjacent the paddle, a second opening adjacent the recess, and a passageway within the chute and between the first and second openings through which the debris passes before exiting the impeller through the passageway of the recess.

Abstract: This invention relates to a cutting apparatus for cutting food items conveyed on a conveyor including at least one conveyor belt. A cutter is arranged above a gap extending across the at least one conveyor belt. The cutter is positioned in relation to the gap such that the cutting path of the cutter extends through the food items and the gap and below the surface level of the at least one conveyor belt. The cutter is adapted to be connected to a control mechanism for operating crosswise movement of the cutter along the gap. The gap is formed between adjacent elongated supporting means such as rollers with a fixed internal arrangement, where the adjacent elongated supporting means and the cutter is adapted to be connected to a control mechanism for operating back and forth movement of the adjacent elongated supporting means and the cutter parallel to the conveying direction while maintaining the internal arrangement of the adjacent elongated supporting means and the cutter fixed.

Abstract: A cutting tool for use with a heated tool assembly is described herein. The cutting tool includes a support body and a plurality of cutting blades extending outwardly from an outer surface of the support body. The plurality of cutting blades includes a primary cutting blade and a pair of secondary cutting blades extending obliquely from the primary cutting blade. At least one heating element chamber is defined within the support body and is configured to receive a heating cartridge therein to facilitate transferring thermal energy from the heating cartridge to the cutting tool for use in heating the plurality of cutting blades.

The attachment comb comprising clamping elements disposed at opposite ends of a support bar a set of comb teeth arrayed along the support bar between the clamping elements. Locating/retaining notches provided on opposing inner faces of the clamping element defining a series of clamping positions to receive and lock a cutting element of the cutting head. The locating notches arranged on the opposed inner faces of the clamping elements defining between them a sloped clamping plane for the cutting element. The notches defining clamping positions at multiple points along the sloped plane. The clamping elements adapted to be displaceable away from one another so as to displace the respective notches of each clamping element away from one another, thereby permitting release and advancement of a received cutting element from one clamping position to another.

Abstract: A pill cutter and a method for using thereof are provided. The pill cutter includes: a bottom case; a pressing plate provided with a blade and a shield plate provided with a slit. When the pressing plate rotates relative to the bottom case, the blade at least has a protected state and a pill-cutting state, in the protected state, the blade is positioned between the shield plate and the pressing plate after the two plates are separated from each other, and in the pill-cutting state, the blade passes through the slit and reaches the bottom case. The blade can be shielded automatically when the pill cutter is opened for putting the pill in, and safety of using the pill cutter is largely enhanced.
