  • Patent number: 9873417
Abstract: A method for conveying a metered hydraulic volume in a vehicle braking system by an electrically driven motor pump assembly, wherein a mechanical pump of the motor pump assembly is driven by an electric motor of the motor pump assembly. A rising motor voltage ramp is applied to the electric motor, a motor current being detected, and a conveying mode of the motor pump assembly starting as soon as a motor torque generated by the motor current exceeds a total of drag torque, breakaway torque and friction torque of the motor pump assembly. The motor current reduces when the conveying mode starts. The method is characterized in that, when a reduction in the motor current is detected after a specified time interval has elapsed, a motor voltage is reduced to a value which ends the conveying mode. The invention further relates to a vehicle braking system.

  • Patent number: 9874034
Abstract: The cable grab safety device releasably attaches a workman's safety lanyard to a steel cable. A primary frame constructed of an elongated U-shaped bracket having a pair of spaced apart parallel side plates fits around the cable. A secondary frame also comprised of a pair of side plates fits within the U-shaped bracket after the cable is inserted. The secondary frame carries a brake in the form of a pulley mounted in an elongated slot movable toward or away from the cable. A lever attached to a worker's lanyard moves the pulley only in the inward direction to engage the cable in the event of a fall. A bent pin connected between the primary and secondary frames allows for limited pivotal and axial movement between them allowing the cable to be inserted into the U-shaped bracket. A separate locking pin secures the frame members together.

  • Patent number: 9868613
Abstract: In a braking apparatus, a forcing device forces a movable portion in a direction that places a friction member in contact with a rotating body. A braking force releasing device displaces the movable portion in a direction in which the friction member separates from the rotating body in opposition to the forcing device. A buffering member is disposed between a fixed portion and the movable portion, and is made of a flexible material. A deforming device deforms the buffering member by pressing the buffering member in a direction that is perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the movable portion.

  • Patent number: 9840237
Abstract: An electric brake system includes an electric brake having a friction pad which is pressed against a brake disk by an electric motor, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive detection outputs from a load detector for detecting a load applied to the brake disk, the brake pedal, and a vehicle speed detector, and to control the electric motor based on the outputs received. In particular, when the vehicle speed detector detects that the vehicle is at a stop, the controller compares the outputs of the brake pedal and of the load detector. If the difference therebetween, if any, is within the width of a dead band, the controller does not change, and thus maintains, the braking load even if the brake pedal is operated.
