  • Patent number: 7303301
Abstract: A submersible light fixture which includes a housing, and an LED light engine mounted to a heat-conducting plate, with the heat conducting plate being supported by the housing. The housing defines an opening adjacent to the heat-conducting plate, and the opening is designed to be in fluid communication with a body of water when the light fixture is submerged such that the water acts as a heat sink to the LED light engine. In one arrangement, the opening is a gap between the heat-conducting plate and a watertight container containing a control module for the LED light engine.

  • Patent number: 7303310
Abstract: A structure for a high diffuse efficiency and water-proof lighting device is provided, including a light tube and a base holder. The light tube and the base holder are each an enclosed structure. The light tube includes a circuit substrate inside the enclosed structure. The circuit substrate includes a plurality of LEDs. The light tube and the base holder each include two holes close to both ends. When the light tube and the base holder are assembled, the holes match so that the wire connecting the circuit substrate can go through the holes to enter the base holder. A water-proof and highly pull-resistant glue is used to fill the overlapping of the holes. A resilient element is used to connect the neighboring circuit substrates, the resilient element can absorb the deformation caused by the temperature changes so that the light diffusion remains uniform. Therefore, the lighting device can perform well even when operating in an environment with drastic temperature changes.

  • Patent number: 7303327
Abstract: A night light comprising a housing with a rotatable bezel mounted thereon. The housing includes a rear wall with electric blades extending outwardly therefrom for engaging in an electrical wall outlet. The bezel is rotatable about a first pivot axis. A LED array is mounted in the bezel and the array is rotatable about a second pivot axis. The second pivot axis is oriented on a different plane to the first pivot axis and preferably lies at ninety degree thereto. When the bezel is rotated about the first pivot axis, the direction of the light emitted from the LED array is changed. Because the bezel can rotate through 360°, the LED array can be rotated through 360° about the first pivot axis. The LED array can be pivoted through an arc of between 160° and 175° about the second pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 7300182
Abstract: In accordance with the invention a light source for an image projection system comprises one or more LEDs packaged for high temperature operation. Advantageously, the LED die are disposed on a package comprising a ceramic coated metal base including one or more underlying thermal connection pads, and underlying electrical connection pads, each LED die thermally coupled through the metal base to a thermal connection pad and electrically coupled to electrical connection pads. The LED can be mounted directly on the metal of the base or on a thin coating of electrical insulator on the metal. Arrays of LED die thus packaged are advantageously fabricated by the low temperature co-fired ceramic-on-metal technique (LTTC-M) and can be referred to as LTTC-M packaged arrays. The LEDs are advantageously mounted in an array of cavities having tapered sides to reflect light from the LEDs. The high temperature LED light sources can substitute for HID lamps in a variety of front and rear projection systems and displays.
