Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to building automation systems, and more particularly to device enrollment techniques in a Building Automation System (BAS). In one example, the Building Automation System includes a central controller and one or more remote sensors/devices. The central controller is initially placed into its enrollment mode. An installer may then walk around the building uttering a predetermined verbal word or phrase. When a sensor/device hears the predetermined verbal word or phrase, the corresponding sensor/device enters its enrollment mode, and then becomes enrolled with the central controller of the Building Automation System. In some cases, the Building Automation System may include a security system.

Each one of the plurality of PLCs stores first output data obtained by executing a self-assigned program to control the control target connected to each PLC, and stores second output data obtained when the PC or another PLC executes another program allocated to the PC or the other PLC to control the control target connected to the one PLC. Each of the plurality of PLCs outputs one of the first output data and the second output data to the I/O device connected to each PLC based on selection information transmitted from the PC.

A deriver derives heartbeat-related parameters based on a body movement of the person. Abstract: An NC unit calculates the phase difference in chatter vibration during working on the basis of detection result of sound produced by working a workpiece by an end mill, increases the number of rotations of the end mill by a predetermined number if the phase difference is smaller than a first phase difference threshold, and decreases the number of rotations of the end mill by a predetermined number if the phase difference is larger than a second phase difference threshold. Further, if the phase difference is between the first phase difference threshold and the second phase difference threshold, the NC unit finds the resonance frequency of a machine tool by multiplying a chatter frequency by a correction factor that changes according to the chatter frequency, and calculates the number of rotations of the end mill on the basis of the resonance frequency, to obtain stable working with suppressed chatter vibration.

Abstract: Predictor variables that affect a building energy load are sampled at a plurality of times within a time period and aggregated to generate an aggregated value for each predictor variable over the time period. A model is generated which estimates the building energy load in terms of the predictor variables. A regression process is performed to generate values for a plurality of regression coefficients in the model based on a cumulative building energy load for the time period and the aggregated values. The sampled values of the predictor variables are then applied as inputs to the model to estimate building energy loads at each of the plurality of times. The estimated building energy loads may be used as inputs to a controller that optimizes operation of a central plant.
Abstract: A system and method for optimizing energy consumption in a plurality of air handling units (AHUs) in a zone is provided. The system comprising a zone thermal unit that is configured to obtain a first set of input parameters including an internal heat gains, a surface convective loads, an intra-zone mixing, a supply air temperature, a second set of input parameters including internal moisture gains, a supply humidity ratio, and a third set of input parameters including an air contaminant concentration and an ambient contaminant concentration of the AHUs and generates a first set of output parameters including a zone temperature, a humidity ratio and an air concentration. The system further includes an optimizer that is configured to generate a second set of output parameters including an optimum combination of AHU flow rates for the AHUs based on at least one of the first set of output parameters.

Abstract: It is an object to enable a request received from an outside to be automatically processed immediately before shifting to a power saving state such as a suspend state. On the way of a shift from a normal state to the suspend state and in a state where the shift cannot be interrupted, when a predetermined request such as a print job is received from an external interface, an MFP reserves a return to the normal state by turning on a wake-up reservation flag and continues a suspend process. When shifting to the suspend state, if the wake-up reservation flag is ON, a power supply control unit performs a return (resume) to the normal state even if no wake-up factor occurs.
