  • Patent number: 8909760
Abstract: Systems and methods for scoring a domain including analyzing counter data and information obtained from a web site associated with the domain. Methods may include receiving requests to resolve the domain at an authoritative domain resolution server. A counter may be incremented for the domain based on the received requests. Information may be obtained from a web page associated with the domain. For example, obtaining information from the web page may include obtaining quantitative, qualitative, and/or functional information from the web page, such as link information, a status of network links corresponding to the link information, and associated ratios. The status of link information may include searching for functional details and/or results, such as, domain redirections, domain errors, mirror content, and commonly linked sites. A score may be calculated for the domain based upon the counter data and the information obtained from the web page associated with the domain.

  • Patent number: 8892745
Abstract: A method is provided in one example embodiment and includes identifying a first data center configured to receive a request initiated by an end user. The method also includes detecting a presence of a wide area application service (WAAS) and identifying a second data center. The method further includes signaling, in response to the presence of the WAAS, to redirect data packets associated with the request to the second data center. In more specific embodiments, the signaling includes adding a TCP option to packets of a session associated with the end user to inform components of redirecting capabilities of a WAAS element. The detecting can include recognizing a transmission control protocol (TCP) option in detecting the presence of the WAAS. The TCP option can be used to identify capabilities of a WAAS element that is involved in servicing the request of the end user.

  • Patent number: 8874663
Abstract: A mechanism for efficiently determining similarity between documents. A set of reference data items is generated by processing a reference document. A similarity index representing similarity between a candidate document and the reference documents is obtained by counting segments of the candidate document matching the reference data items. The candidate document is a message transmitted in a communication system where the message is compared against one or more reference documents representing unwanted messages to filter and block unwanted messages from being transmittal or propagated.

  • Patent number: 8819190
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product provides effective management and deployment of image files within a Virtual Input/Output (I/O) Server (VIOS) cluster. An Image Management (IM) utility utilizes a discovery process to establish connections with objects in order to manage these objects. Following discovery of an ICP client, the IM utility enables creation of a virtual server partition and initiates the importing of a captured image to a VIOS cluster Storage Pool (SP). The IM utility creates logical units (LUs) within the Image Management Fileset (IMF) for each file within the captured image. The IM utility maps the LUs to the VIOS Cluster SP using unique image file handles. The IM utility configures the new storage that comprises the created LUs. The IM utility copies image files to the appropriate storage device/LU. When import/copy of the image is completed, the IM utility activates the virtual server partition.

  • Patent number: 8665333
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for optimizing the observation and annotation of complex human behavior from video sources by automatically detecting predefined events based on the behavior of people in a first video stream from a first means for capturing images in a physical space, accessing a synchronized second video stream from a second means for capturing images that are positioned to observe the people more closely using the timestamps associated with the detected events from the first video stream, and enabling an annotator to annotate each of the events with more labels using a tool. The present invention captures a plurality of input images of the persons by a plurality of means for capturing images and processes the plurality of input images in order to detect the predefined events based on the behavior in an exemplary embodiment. The processes are based on a novel usage of a plurality of computer vision technologies to analyze the human behavior from the plurality of input images.

  • Patent number: 8589519
Abstract: A user device (110) is connected to a web server (120) via a network (130). An owner (140) communicates with the web server and has a communication channel (141) to the user device. The owner initiates an URI assignment request to the user device and obtains the device credentials via the communication channel (141). The owner provides the credentials to the web server via a communication channel (121). The web server sends the credentials to the user device which compares the credentials with its memory (110a) and replies with the URI status. The web server sends the URI assignment to the user device which accepts and confirms back to the web server which sends a locking message to the user device. The owner can revoke the URI using a password that is verified by the user device, which deletes the URI. An advantage is that the owner can acquire the URI without being the owner of domain.
