  • Patent number: 5651469
Abstract: A movable aisle rack system is provided for storing hanging garments which includes a plurality of laterally movable racks. The movable racks have longitudinally extending garment supports and enclosures for protecting the garments. The enclosures have uprights and shelves supported by shelf supports attached to the uprights. The garment supports longitudinally extend between the uprights to hang and remove the garments through open lateral sides of the enclosure. In a partially closed configuration the garment supports are inverted shelf supports located at the open lateral sides such that the garments partially extend out of the open lateral sides of the enclosure. Base extensions of the movable racks laterally extend beyond the garments to prevent contact of the garments laterally extending out of the enclosures with an adjacent rack.

  • Patent number: 5647488
Abstract: A ball preferably configured to resemble a sports ball such as a golf ball has a lightweight shell with a relatively heavy mass anchored eccentrically to the inside of the shell to establish a serious non-spherically-symmetric weight distribution. The ball preferably comes with a sloped platform-defining stand, with both the stand and the ball having frictional surfaces so that the ball will rest on the surface without sliding and will not roll down due to the stability established by the eccentric weight. The ball thus stably seated on a sloped plane has an intriguing, unnatural appearance that captures the attention of onlookers.

  • Patent number: 5638966
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a free standing (unattached) sheet metal shelf, requiring no tools to install instantly and combinations containing same. The sheet metal shelf is free standing because it is not attached to anything. It has a pair of depending support side leg portions terminating in arcuate bottom surfaces, which permit the sheet metal bathroom shelf to be self adjusting in a position so that its back portion rests against the bathroom wall and is aligned in relation therewith.A method of forming this sheet metal shelf is also disclosed and described along with the combination of a magnet and aesthetically pleasing, e.g., wooden, top shelf secured on its bottom surface to the top of the sheet metal shelf and on its upper surface secured to the lower surface of the decorative, aesthetically pleasing, top shelf. The structure and method of assembling the various surfaces to permit an aesthetically pleasing, wooden upper surface is likewise illustrated and disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5630516
Abstract: Ball cap display and storage rack assembly comprising vertical members with lateral cross members formed to cooperate with ball cap capture arms rotatably snapped onto the cross members. The cap capture arm can accept the crown button of a ball cap whose rearward head cover portion has been collapsed forward towards the cap visor into the front head cover portion. The cap capture arm can then be rotated downward to capture the cap, via its crown button, between the capture arm and the cross member. A plurality of caps may be stored limited only by the area covered by the rack assembly. By suitably shaping and positioning the cross members during fabrication, a uniform and attractive display of the stored ball caps is achieved. The design of the cross members and the capture arm is such that the ball caps are presented much as they appear when worn thus logos and lettering on the visor and head cover portions are easily visualized.

  • Patent number: 5615851
Abstract: A clip for securing a wire harness to a vehicle panel. The clip comprises a tower having a flange for embracing the harness and a hollow cylindrical member extending downwardly from the flange for insertion through an aperture in the harness. Retention legs extend through the cylindrical member and a lever base integral with the flange pivotally supports an operating lever. A piston is positioned slidably between the legs and the legs and piston are connected to the lever via an eccentric mechanism. In operation, the legs are inserted through an aperture in the vehicle panel and the operating lever is pivoted. The eccentric mechanism drives the piston downwardly relative to the legs to separate the legs and cause them to move outwardly into engagement with the aperture in the vehicle panel.

  • Patent number: 5615783
Abstract: A saddle rack usable in a portable mode includes a framework of elongated tubular elements presenting a top member having hanger elements engageable with various available structures such as fence rail and the like and from which is suspended one or more hanger arms each in turn joined at its lower end to a saddle support arm provided with a top cover of curved configuration adapted to nest within the longitudinal groove existing beneath saddle seats. Optimum compactibility is achieved during collapsing of the rack through pivot assemblies joining the top member, hanger arm and saddle support arm together and whereupon the saddle support arm is foldable in an upward plane normal to a vertical plane passing through the top member, following which the combined saddle support arm and hanger member are in turn are pivoted together to a line parallel and juxtaposed the top member. One or more hooks depending from the top member provide hanger elements for receiving associated equestrian accouterments.

  • Patent number: 5613614
Abstract: The primary part of the rack is a beam having an essentially H shaped cross section having two sides and a web interconnecting them. A length of bungee cord is threaded through a series of holes in the web to provide a series of exposed, end to end lengths of the cord, each length being usable to retain a stored object against the edges of the sides of the beam. In one embodiment of the invention pins may be inserted in holes across the beam to provide spans of cord shorter than the distance between holes. In an alternate embodiment clips engage the cord and are attachable to the web at any of a plurality of openings. The pattern of the installation of the cord is such that the length of cord serving each exposed length is approximately 3 times the exposed length.
