  • Patent number: 11670261
Abstract: A method of providing a graphical output may include scanning at least a portion of a user's face using a sensor; generating a depth map using the scan; and determining a similarity score between the depth map and a set of stored biometric identity maps that are associated with a registered user. In response to the similarity score exceeding a threshold, the user may be authenticated as the registered user. The method may further determine a corrective eyewear scenario, select a display profile that is associated with the corrective eyewear scenario, and generate a graphical output in accordance with the selected display profile.

  • Patent number: 11670021
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for an enhanced graphical user interface (GUI) for presenting events. In particular, a graphical user interface includes, a visualization of unique values. Such a visualization includes a first set of rows for each unique value, wherein each row is divided into regions each representing a timeslot within the time range. Each region in a particular row of the first set of rows graphically illustrates a count of events from the plurality of events that both have an associated timestamp that is within a respective timeslot represented by the region and include a particular unique value associated with the particular row. The graphical user interface also includes a table including a second set of rows that each correspond to the first set of rows. Each row includes a set of statistics determined from events that each include the particular unique value associated with the row.

  • Patent number: 11662807
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to eye-tracking systems and methods that provide a user the ability to efficiently activate the system and select and dismiss virtual objects within an augmented reality (“AR”) and/or virtual reality (“VR”) environment. A user may activate the user interface by glancing beyond an activation threshold positioned close enough to the edge of the field of view to reliably infer an intent to activate the virtual controls. Subsequently, the user interacts with virtual tools, first virtual “peek” windows and secondary virtual windows to obtain content or virtual control across a variety of granular levels. Subsequently, the user may glance away at virtual content or to other predefined areas within their eye's range of motion to dismiss the tool and/or deactivate the system.

  • Patent number: 11657511
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method and computer readable storage medium for detecting space suitable for overlaying media content onto an image. The system receives an image which may be an image or a video frame. The image is processed using a number of image processing techniques in order to automatically propose spaces for inserting media content onto the image. The proposed spaces may then be further analyzed using a heuristics-based approach to select bounding boxes for inserting media content. Subsequently, one or more media content items may be selected for insertion onto the bounding boxes on the image. The system may then cause a display of the image with the selected media content item overlaid onto the image within the selected bounding boxes.

  • Patent number: 11636655
Abstract: The present embodiments relate to display of glints associated with real-world objects in an environment displayed on an extra reality (XR) device. The glint can include a virtual object associated with a real-world object, such as an indication of a social interaction associated with a real-world object, a content item tagged to an object, etc. The system as described herein can present glints on a display of an XR device based on a distance between the XR device and a location associated with the glint. Responsive to selection of a glint in the environment, additional information can be presented relating to the glint or another action can be taken, such as to open an application. In some instances, a glint can include a series of search results relating to a corresponding real-world object to provide additional information relating to the real-world object.

  • Patent number: 11562529
Abstract: A method includes generating a depth map of a real environment as seen from a viewpoint that comprises pixels having corresponding depth values of one or more physical objects. Based on the depth map a two-dimensional occlusion surface is generated representing at least a visible portion of the one or more physical objects that are located within a predetermined depth range defined relative to the viewpoint. The two-dimensional occlusion surface is posed in a three-dimensional coordinate system such that the two-dimensional occlusion surface is located at a predetermined distance from the viewpoint. The visibility of a virtual object is determined relative to the one or more physical objects by comparing a model of the virtual object with the two-dimensional occlusion surface, and an output image is generated based on the visibility of the virtual object.

  • Patent number: 11551344
Abstract: A smart, human-centered technique that uses artificial intelligence and mixed reality to accelerate essential tasks of the inspectors such as defect measurement, condition assessment and data processing. For example, a bridge inspector can analyze some remote cracks located on a concrete pier, estimate their dimensional properties and perform condition assessment in real-time. The inspector can intervene in any step of the analysis/assessment and correct the operations of the artificial intelligence. Thereby, the inspector and the artificial intelligence will collaborate/communicate for improved visual inspection. This collective intelligence framework can be integrated in a mixed reality supported see-through headset or a hand-held device with the availability of sufficient hardware and sensors. Consequently, the methods reduce the inspection time and associated labor costs while ensuring reliable and objective infrastructure evaluation.
