Abstract: A system, computer program product, and method are presented for providing confidence values for replacement data for data that has issues indicative of errors, where the data issues, the replacement data, and confidence values are related to one or more KPIs. The method includes identifying one or more potentially erroneous data instances and determining one or more predicted replacement values for the potentially erroneous data instances. The method further includes determining a confidence value for each predicted replacement value and resolving the one or more potentially erroneous data instances with one predicted replacement value of the one or more predicted replacement values. The method also includes generating an explanatory basis for the resolution of the one or more potentially erroneous data instances.

  • Patent number: 11307950
Abstract: A data health monitoring system and method are provided which may be configured to monitor different indicators or parameters of a computing device which may affect the health of the computing device, such as which may be used in looking for early warning signs that could indicate future data loss or corruption. The system may periodically query certain data health indicators, such as S.M.A.R.T. status, disk temperature, read and write errors, etc. The system may also monitor data as it is being accessed keeping track of other indicators such as: files that are modified, when the last backed up was, protection status of the file, type of changes made to the file, which application is making changes, etc. Preferably, the combined status of each data health indicator may be rolled up into a simple message and shown to the user via notifications, reports, logs or a user interface.

  • Patent number: 11301318
Abstract: The subject technology provides for managing a data storage system. A data operation error for a data operation initiated in a first non-volatile memory die of a plurality of non-volatile memory die in the data storage system is detected. An error count for an error type of the data operation error for the first non-volatile memory die is incremented. The incremented error count satisfies a first threshold value for the error type of the data operation error is determined. The first non-volatile memory die is marked for exclusion from subsequent data operations.

  • Patent number: 11301316
Abstract: Systems and methods for are provided for predicting impending failure of a database and preemptively initiating mitigating failover actions, for example by shedding connections or redirecting connection requests to an alternate database that can fulfill resources being requested. In an example embodiment, to detect a slow or unstable database, connection wait times are monitored over a rolling window of time intervals, a quantity of intervals in which at least one excessive wait time event occurred are counted during the time window, and if the quantity exceeds a threshold, the database is deemed unavailable, thereby triggering connection adjustments.

  • Patent number: 11301364
Abstract: Techniques that facilitate re-hosting a subset of a serverless application are provided. In one example, a system includes an interface component, a rewriter component and a broker component. The interface component receives identifier data from a computing device that identifies a portion of a serverless application to be re-hosted by the computing device. The computing device is in communication with the serverless computing system via a network device. The rewriter component rewrites the serverless application to allow the first portion of the serverless application to be executed by the computing device and another portion of the serverless application to be executed by the serverless computing system. The interface component re-routes the first portion of the serverless application to the computing device to facilitate a debugging session for the first portion of the serverless application that is performed by the computing device.

  • Patent number: 11301312
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for improved error logging during system boot and shutdown. A hardware initialization firmware on a computing device can include a logging module. When errors occur during early system booting or late system shutdown, the firmware can create error logs. The logging module can receive the error logs and prioritize them according to a set of rules. The logging module can select error logs of the highest priority up to a predetermined maximum amount. The logging module can modify the error logs using a shorthand form and write them to nonvolatile random-access memory. The firmware can initialize runtime services and launch an operating system. A system logger on the operating system can retrieve the error logs, save them to a file, and erase them from the memory.

  • Patent number: 11294744
Abstract: A management entity receives device fingerprints representing corresponding devices connected to one or more networks. Each device fingerprint includes a multi-bit word indicating hardware, software, network configuration, and failure features for a corresponding one of the devices. The management entity processes the device fingerprints using different methods including statistical risk of failure scoring methods and machine learning risk of failure scoring methods, to produce from each of the methods a respective risk of failure for each device. The management entity combines the respective risk of failures for each device into a composite risk of failure for each device, ranks the devices based on the composite risk of failures for the devices, to produce a risk ranking of the devices, and outputs the risk ranking.

  • Patent number: 11294807
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a method and device for reduce the amount of energy used to revert data within a storage device to a consistent state after a power loss event. Once power is lost from a host device, and prior to complete shutdown, a log is created within non-volatile memory (NVM) of the storage device. The log contains logical block addresses (LBAs) corresponding to data that experienced a write failure. At the next power-on event, the log is checked to see if any LBAs are present. If LBAs are present in the log, then the data that experienced a write failure can be properly written to the storage device.

  • Patent number: 11288114
Abstract: Techniques for performing remote diagnostics in computing systems are disclosed herein. In one implementation, a first computing device can transmit to a remote server, data reporting an operational issue related to a second computing device. The remote server can then transmit a diagnostic command to the second computing device via the computer network. The second computing device can then execute the diagnostic command to generate diagnostic information. Upon receiving the generated diagnostic information from the second computing device, the remote server can combine the data from the first computing device reporting the operational issue with the generated diagnostic information from the second computing device and store the combined data as a database record corresponding to the reported operational issue.

  • Patent number: 11288117
Abstract: Techniques for predictive system remediation are disclosed. Based on attributes associated with applications of one or more system-selected remedial actions to one or more problematic system behaviors in a system (e.g., a database system), the system determines a predicted effectiveness of one or more future applications of a remedial action to a particular problematic system behavior, as of one or more future times. The system determines that the predicted effectiveness of the one or more future applications of the remedial action is positive but does not satisfy a performance criterion. Responsive to determining that the predicted effectiveness is positive but does not satisfy the performance criterion, the system generates a notification corresponding to the predicted effectiveness not satisfying the performance criterion.

  • Patent number: 11288115
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for analysis of errors of a predictive model. In some embodiments, a system can include a processor that executes computer-executable components stored in memory. The computer-executable components can include an overview component that causes a client device to present first data identifying an error corresponding to a cell of a confusion matrix for a classification model, the error representing a mismatch between a first label generated by the classification model and a second label corresponding to a ground-truth observation. The computer-executable components also can include an element view component that receives second data defining a root cause of the error. The computer-executable components can further include an error annotation component that can embed the second data into a first data structure containing the first data, resulting in a first annotated data structure.

  • Patent number: 11288178
Abstract: A system for testing container applications includes a memory, a processor in communication with the memory, a test manager, and a test controller. The test manager runs on a host operating system and creates a test container image including test artifact(s) and/or test dependency(ies). Then, the test manager distributes a set of tests, which are accessible to a test container created from the test container image. The test manager distributes the tests by populating a directory with the set of tests and mounting the directory to the test container. Additionally, the test manager executes the test container image. The test controller is associated with the test container and executes the set of tests accessible to the test container using the test artifact(s) and/or the test dependency(ies). The test controller also monitors the set of tests executed by the test container. Feedback corresponding to the set of tests is provided.

  • Patent number: 11283556
Abstract: Reception information of frames received at a redundant port may be stored to a data structure in group of data structures such that reception information of all frames in a sequence are not stored to the same data structure and the reception information can be quickly accessed for duplicate detection. The data structure includes reception information for a portion of consecutive frames in a sequence of frames transmitted by a specific transmitter node. A communications layer address of the transmitter node and information capable of identifying a portion of consecutive frames in a sequence of frames are derived from a received frame. The reception information for the received frame in the data structure is read on the basis of derived information capable of identifying the received frame within the portion of consecutive frames.
