  • Patent number: 12273487
Abstract: An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a management apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes a variable mechanism, a physical quantity detection unit that detects a change in physical quantity caused when a state of the variable mechanism changes, an abnormality detection unit that detects an abnormal condition, and a transmission unit that transmits detection results of the physical quantity detection unit and the abnormality detection unit to the management apparatus. The management apparatus includes a determination unit that determines a cause of the abnormal condition, and a notification unit that provides a notification that the abnormal condition is caused by a change in the state in accordance with a determination result. The determination unit determines that the abnormal condition is caused by a change in the state when the abnormal condition is detected after the change in physical quantity exceeds a threshold.

  • Patent number: 12267465
Abstract: An inspection apparatus that reads an image formed on a printed material to generate a reference image of an inspection target, and specifies each region including an object in the reference image, and displays the regions such that the regions are selectable. Also, the inspection apparatus batch-sets inspection conditions for a plurality of regions selected by the user via the displayed reference image. Further, the inspection apparatus disables batch setting of an inspection condition in a case where a plurality of regions selected by the user include different regions that include objects of different inspection types. On the other hand, in a case where a plurality of regions selected by the user do not include such different regions, the inspection apparatus enables batch setting of an inspection condition.

  • Patent number: 12256046
Abstract: An inspection system extracts feature points from a scan image and from a reference image, performs alignment of the scan image and the reference image based on the extracted feature points, inspects a printed material using the aligned scan and reference images, and performs processing in accordance with a method selected from among a plurality of methods including at least a first method and a second method in a case where the number of the feature points in the reference image is less than a predetermined number. The processing is performed such that, in the case where the number of the feature points in the reference image is less than the predetermined number, the alignment using at least the extracted feature points is performed when the first method is selected, and the inspection is then carried out, whereas the inspection is not carried out when the second method is selected.

  • Patent number: 12250354
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for rendering a gloss effect on a recording medium, can involve rendering a foreground pattern using a first ink composition comprising infrared absorbing colors, wherein said first ink is lightened with lightening parameters by the addition of paper white holes and rendering a background pattern using a second ink composition comprising a process or spot color, wherein said second ink is darkened with darkening parameters by the addition of infrared absorbing colors that have different amounts of infrared absorbing colors than that of the first ink composition. The lightening parameters and the darkening parameters are adjustable to ensure that the first and second inks appear approximately the same at printed sizes. Anisotropic properties can be introduced to the first and second inks, causing non-uniformity in their reflection of light in different directions when viewed under a light source, thereby creating a gloss effect renderable on a recording medium.

  • Patent number: 12229924
Abstract: A method for generating a subtraction image for digital subtraction angiography to reduce noise and movement artifacts. Obtaining a plurality of mask images of an object takes place before administering a contrast agent into the object and obtaining a map of the object after administering a contrast agent into the object. A first sum image is obtained from the plurality of mask images in that the plurality of mask images is summed in each case multiplied by an individual weighting. The individual weightings for each of the plurality of mask images are automatically determined by an optimization method, and the subtraction image is ascertained by subtraction of the sum image from the map.
