Abstract: A secondary battery includes a case including an internal space, at least one electrode assembly in the case, the electrode assembly including a separator between a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, and the positive and negative electrode plates including uncoated portions at edges of the electrode assembly, at least one current collector piece coupled to the uncoated portions of the electrode assembly, the at least one current collector piece being inserted into an interior region of the uncoated portions, a current collector terminal coupled to the current collector piece and protruding to an upper portion of the case, and a cap plate coupled to the upper portion of the case.
