Abstract: Present embodiments provide for a mobile device and an optical imaging lens thereof. The optical imaging lens comprises five lens elements positioned in an order from an object side to an image side. Through controlling the convex or concave shape of the surfaces of the lens elements to allow the thickness of the second lens element and air gaps between the five lens elements along the optical axis satisfying the relation 4.11?f/(AG12+AG45)?17.06, where f is the effective focal length of the optical imaging lens, AG12 is the air gap between the first and second lens element along the optical axis, and AG45 is the air gap between the fourth and fifth lens element along the optical axis. The optical imaging lens shows better optical characteristics and the total length of the optical imaging lens is shortened.

  • Patent number: 9696476
Abstract: Complex spectral and angular diffractive optical elements in photosensitive materials based on Moiré pattern are proposed and demonstrated. The process is based on the recording of multiple volume Bragg gratings with controlled difference of the periods in the same volume of photosensitive material. Filters with ultra-narrow bandpass in the range of a few picometers to a few tens of picometers or apodized diffractive optical elements across large aperture are demonstrated. Several methods to fabricating such Moiré Bragg gratings are proposed. Experimental demonstration of a Moiré ultra-narrowband diffractive optical element in PTR glass is performed.

  • Patent number: 9696558
Abstract: Laser or narrow band light sources are utilized to from left (R1, G1, B1) and right (R2,G2;B2,) images of a 3D projection. Under off-axis viewing of projections (i.e. oblique incident angles) the passbands of the viewing filters in the glasses are blue-shifted, which has the potential of cause crosstalk and/or loss of energy/brightness in any channel or color. This blue-shift is compensated via the combined use of any of viewing passbands (220) encompassing the associated projected lightband (222) and a red-shift passband (224) selection of passband wavelengths that maximize usability of the passband as it “shifts” due to varying or increasing angles of off-axis viewing), curvature of viewing filters, and guard bands between light bands of adjacent channels. Implemented with any number of light sources, additional light sources are utilized to affect a desirable increase in color gamut.

  • Patent number: 9696540
Abstract: Micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) mirror devices and manufacturing methods thereof. The device comprising a hinge layer having orthogonal tilt and roll hinges connecting inner and outer platforms such that the inner platform has bi-directional rotation. An electrode layer connected beneath the hinge layer controls rotation of the platforms. A mirror layer above the hinge layer comprises a mirror connected to the inner platform via a pedestal and fixed membrane connected to the hinge layer but detached from the mirror. An anchor temporarily reduces movement of the outer platform during fabrication. In a fabrication state, the anchor anchors the outer platform to the mirror layer's fixed membrane. In a post-fabrication state, a gap releases the outer platform.
