  • Patent number: 12221760
Abstract: A trenchless method of installing a new poured-in-place manhole liner provides structural rehabilitation to an existing buried manhole, and is extended above the existing manhole to a higher pre-determined elevation to match the finished grade of a raised levee design. The new liner can be formed in a single or double stage process, which substantially eliminates trenching and excavation of soil, so that new levee soil is not disturbed. The process is faster and less expensive than building a totally new manhole, and maintains the structural integrity of the levee.

  • Patent number: 12208564
Abstract: A monolayer multi-axial integral geogrid suitable for stabilizing aggregate includes a plurality of interconnected oriented strands and partially oriented junctions forming a repeating pattern of outer hexagons having an array of openings therein. Oriented ribs extending inwardly from each of said outer hexagons support and surround a smaller inner hexagon having oriented strands thus forming a plurality of trapezoidal openings and a single hexagonal opening. The oriented strands and partially oriented junctions of the outer hexagons form a plurality of linear strong axis strands that extend continuously throughout the entirety of the geogrid and form additional triangular openings. The geogrid thus includes three different repeating geometric shapes. The inner hexagons preferably also can move up and down, out of the plane of the geogrid. The multi-axial integral geogrid thus provides a geometry configured to engage with, confine and stabilize a large variety and quality of aggregates.

  • Patent number: 12121850
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and a system of abating carbon dioxide (CO2) and/or hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in a geological reservoir. Water is pumped or transferred from a water source to an injection well. The gasses are merged with the water under conditions where the hydraulic pressure of the water is less than the pressure of CO2 and/or H2S gas at the merging point. The water with CO2 and/or H2S gas bubbles is transferred further downwardly at a certain velocity higher than the upward flow velocity of said CO2 and/or H2S gas bubbles ensuring downward movement of gas bubbles resulting in full dissolution of said CO2 and/or H2S in the water due to elevating pressure. The complete dissolution ensures a lowered pH of the water entering a geological (e.g.

  • Patent number: 12103058
Abstract: The present invention discloses a soil remediation device and method. Soil is remediated by (i) introducing hot air at 550-650° C. from an outlet of an air heater into the drum from a circulating hot air inlet of a discharge end fixed hood and transferring heat with the soil by direct countercurrent contact such that the soil is heated, and (ii) releasing heat from a heat accumulator at a bottom of the drum through heat pipes such that the soil is heated. As a temperature of the soil gradually rises to about 300-500° C., water and organic contaminants in the soil are volatilized into a gaseous state and carry dust to become thermal desorption offgas that is separated from the soil, the thermal desorption offgas becoming part of the hot air and flowing from the drum to a dust remover. Part of the hot air is recirculated to the drum, and another part of the hot air is discharged after being purified.

  • Patent number: 12055257
Abstract: A method of dewatering a subsea pipeline bundle assembly before lifting the assembly from the seabed and an elongate carrier pipe comprising at least one internal fall that slopes downwardly towards a drainage outlet and at least one venturi formation that is aligned with the drainage outlet. The method comprises adding discrete buoyancy to the elongate carrier pipe that elevates the carrier pipe disposed between drainage outlets of the assembly. Each elevated portion defines inclined falls that slope downwardly in opposed longitudinal directions toward the respective outlets. Water within the carrier pipe drains down the falls toward the outlets. Injecting a dewatering fluid into the carrier pipe promotes expulsion of water from the pipe through the outlets by downward displacement of the water. Drainage may be assisted by a venturi effect driven by accelerating the flow of the dewatering fluid at a location in line with an outlet.
