Abstract: An ambient light adaptive color correction system and method are provided in the present invention. Firstly, a color information sensor measures color information of at least black and white reference images on a projector plane with influence of ambient light. Then a color correction information calculator calculates color correction information for color appearance matching and gamut mapping based on the measured color information and a projector profile. And after pre-calculation, an image data correction unit processes an input image according to the color correction information to produce a corrected-color image to be outputted to the projector. Accordingly, the output image displayed on the projection plane with influence of ambient light will have a close color appearance to that in the dark room.

  • Patent number: 8223265
Abstract: Timing of internally generated horizontal synchronization signal and vertical synchronization signal is shifted. An internal clock is synchronized with a horizontal synchronization signal separated in a synchronization separation circuit 10, an H reset signal is generated based thereon in an H countdown circuit 14, and a horizontal synchronization signal is generated based thereon. A vertical synchronization signal separated in the synchronization separation circuit 10 is normalized by a 2×FH signal obtained in the H countdown circuit 14, and based on an obtained V reset signal, a vertical synchronization signal is obtained in a VS output circuit 18. Here, the VS output circuit 18 internally has a delay circuit, and the timing of a vertical synchronization signal VS to be output is shifted from that of a horizontal synchronization signal HS.

  • Patent number: 8218077
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for processing first image data into second image data having a higher quality includes the following elements. A determination unit determines whether broadcast image data is up-converted image data generated by up-converting different image data by increasing the number of pixels forming the different image data. A down-converter down-converts the broadcast image data into down-converted image data by decreasing the number of pixels forming the broadcast image data. A first image converter converts, if the broadcast image data is not the up-converted image data, the first image data into the second image data by using the down-converted image data and the broadcast image data as the first image data. A second image converter converts, if the broadcast image data is the up-converted image data, the first image data into the second image data by using the down-converted image data as the first image data.

  • Patent number: 8212925
Abstract: A sync separation circuit separates a synchronizing signal from a video signal containing the synchronizing signal. A minimum level detecting section detects a minimum level of a video signal. A sync tip level detecting section detects a sync tip level in the video signal. A pedestal level detecting section detects a pedestal level in the video signal. Based on both the sync tip level detected by the sync tip level detecting section and the pedestal level control by the pedestal level detecting section, a slice level setting section sets a slice level corresponding to an intermediate value between the sync tip level and the pedestal level. The slice level control section sets the slice level based on the minimum level detected by the minimum level detecting section if the slice level set based on the sync tip level and the pedestal level is inappropriate.
