  • Patent number: 10958899
Abstract: In an example, a computing device extracts a first pre-defined region of interest (ROI), a second pre-defined ROI, and a third pre-defined ROI from an image captured by the imaging device. Further, a first signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), second SNR, and a third SNR is calculated for the first, the second, and the third pre-defined ROIs respectively. The computing device computes a variance of the first SNR with respect to the second SNR and the third SNR, the second SNR with respect to the third SNR and the first SNR, and the third SNR with respect to the first SNR and the second SNR. Based on the variance, a pre-defined weight is associated with the first SNR, the second SNR, and the third SNR to obtain weighted SNR values. Based on the weighted SNR values, the computing device evaluates the dynamic range of the imaging device.

  • Patent number: 10930071
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are described herein for geometrically simplifying three-dimensional (3D) video data. In one aspect, a method may include obtaining 3D data, with the 3D data including a plurality of portions associated with a default resolution priority. A higher resolution priority may be associated with one or more portions of the 3D data. Next, portions of the 3D data may be sorted according to resolution priorities associated with each portion, and geometric simplification may be performed on the sorted portions of the 3D data, beginning with portions associated with a least resolution priority and continuing with portions associated with successively higher resolution priorities. The simplified 3D data may be processed, for example, for rendering on a computing device or transmission to another device for display or generation, such as a 3D printing device for generating a 3D object.

  • Patent number: 10897616
Abstract: Approaches for dynamically allocating CPU cycles for use in processing a video stream. Video complexity information for two or more digital video streams actively being processed by one or more video encoders is determined at periodic intervals. Video complexity information describes the complexity of digital video carried by the digital video streams across a bounded number of consecutive digital frames which includes digital frames not yet processed by the one or more video encoders. A determination is made as to whether a number of CPU cycles allocated for processing a particular digital video stream should be adjusted based on the determined video complexity information. The number of CPU cycles allocated for processing the particular digital video stream may be dynamically adjusted by changing an amount of CPU cycles allocated to a virtual machine in which the stream is processed or by processing the stream in a different virtual machine.

  • Patent number: 10855947
Abstract: An audio-video control system comprises a first audio sensor, a controller, an audio player, a first motion sensor and a processor. The first audio sensor receives a first audio signal in a first area when the first audio sensor is enabled. The controller determines whether the first audio sensor receives the first audio signal. The first motion sensor detects a motion of a first object in the first area to generate a first motion detecting signal. The controller enables the first audio sensor according to the first motion detecting signal. The processor controls the first and second devices via a local area network, controls the audio player to play an audio notifying signal according to the first motion detecting signal, and processes the first audio signal to obtain a control signal to selectively control the first device or the second device when the source of the first audio signal corresponds to the first account.
