Abstract: An assistance system to support non-contact charging of a battery of a motor vehicle, a corresponding method, and a corresponding motor vehicle having such an assistance system. In order to support non-contact charging, it is provided that, by a camera, a respective current image of a base plate of an off-board means providing electrical energy for the charging is captured. The captured image is compared to a predetermined reference image showing the base plate in a condition suitable for charging by a data processor. If a difference is detected, a request is automatically issued to a driver of the motor vehicle, prompting the driver to examine the base plate and confirm that the base plate is free of foreign objects interfering with charging.
Abstract: In a method for facial feature point tracking, facial feature points of a face in a previous image of a to-be-tracked image are acquired in an image sequence. Facial feature point errors between the to-be-tracked image and the previous image are determined based on a preset error model and pixels in the to-be-tracked image. The facial feature point errors indicate differences between first coordinates of facial feature points in the to-be-tracked image, and second coordinates of facial feature points at corresponding positions in the previous image. The preset error model is trained based on facial feature points in a plurality of pairs of adjacent reference images. Further, the facial feature points of the face in the to-be-tracked image are determined based on the facial feature points of the face in the previous image and the facial feature point errors between the to-be-tracked image and the previous image.

Abstract: A color adjustment system includes a memory and a processor. The memory stores instructions. The processor is configured to access the instructions to perform the following: accessing an image; providing a control interface having control points distributed thereon, and the plurality of control points defines a plurality of areas on a color plane; in response to one of the control points being moved from a first location to a second location on the color plane, selecting adjusting areas adjacent to the first location, in order to redefine an original chroma in the adjusting areas to an adjusted chroma; and determining whether pixels of the image match the original chroma in the adjusting areas, and displaying the pixels with the adjusted chroma if the pixels are matched to the original chroma.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for assessing whether mobile deposit processing engines meet specified standards for mobile deposit of financial documents. A mobile deposit processing engine (MDE) is evaluated to determine if it can perform technical capabilities for improving the quality of and extracting content from an image of a financial document. A verification process then begins, where the MDE performs the image quality enhancements and text extraction steps on sets of images from a test deck. The results of the processing of the test deck are then evaluated by comparing confidence levels with thresholds to determine if each set of images should be accepted or rejected. Further analysis determines whether any of the sets of images were falsely accepted or rejected in error. An overall error rate is then compared with minimum accuracy criteria, and if the criteria are met, the MDE meets the standard for mobile deposit.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for the denoising of images in the presence of broadband noise based on the detection and/or estimation of in-band noise. According to various example embodiments, an estimate of broadband noise that lies within the imaging band is made by detecting or characterizing the out-of-band noise that lies outside of the imaging band. This estimated in-band noise may be employed for denoise the detected imaging waveform. According to other example embodiments, a reference receive circuit that is sensitive to noise within the imaging band, but is isolated from the imaging energy, may be employed to detect and/or characterize the noise within the imaging band. The estimated reference noise may be employed to denoise the detected in-band imaging waveform.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for estimating a height of a cloud depicted in an image are provided. Aspects include extracting metadata from the image, the metadata including a latitude, a longitude, and heading of a camera that captured the image and a time at which the image was captured. Aspects also include creating a three-dimensional model of a landscape depicted in the image and inserting a simulated cloud into the three-dimensional model. Aspects further include creating a simulated image of the three-dimensional model, including the simulated cloud and determining a similarity score of the cloud depicted in the image to the simulated cloud in the simulated image. Based on a determination that the similarity score exceeds a threshold value, aspects include providing a height of the simulated cloud in the three-dimensional model as the height of the cloud depicted in the image.

Abstract: A method to denoise low dose CT images without introducing blurriness is shown using cross directional bilateral filtering. Techniques are provided that (1) enhance low-radiation dosage images, beyond just reducing noise, and (2) may be combined with other approaches, such as adaptive exposure techniques and iterative reconstruction, for radiation dose reduction.
Abstract: Techniques for processing images of documents captured using a mobile device are provided. The images can include different sides of a document from a mobile device for an authenticated transaction. In an example implementation, a method includes inspecting the images to detect a feature associated with a first side of the document. In response to determining an image is the first side of the document, a type of content is selected to be analyze on the image of the first side and one or more of regions of interests (ROIs) are identified on the image of the first side that are known to include the selected type of content. A process can include receiving a sub-image of the image of the first side from the preprocessing unit, and performing content detection test on the sub-image.
Abstract: In order to determine noise intensity more accurately by a projection data division method using data after fan-parallel conversion, a plurality of projection data obtained by irradiating a scan object with radiations are received and subjected to prescribed data conversion; data after the conversion is divided into two or more sets; a reconstructed image is generated for each set of data; and the generated reconstructed image for each of the sets is subtracted to generate a difference image. An index indicating pixel value variation for at least one prescribed region on the difference image is calculated, the value of the index is corrected by a previously calculated correction value, and the corrected index value is regarded as noise intensity of the region.
Abstract: A method of locating content portion(s) of an image includes automatically determining a pixel threshold value; comparing the threshold value to the image to determine background and content sets of the pixels; determining boundaries between the background and content sets; determining the content portions using the determined boundaries; and determining bounding boxes for the content portions.
