  • Patent number: 10195911
Abstract: A pneumatic tire 22 includes a pair of beads 30 and a carcass 32 extending on and between both beads 30. Each bead 30 includes a core 48. The core 48 includes: a main body 56 including a cord 60 extending in a circumferential direction; and a stretchable portion 58 formed from a crosslinked rubber. The stretchable portion 58 is located inward of the main body 56 in an axial direction. The stretchable portion 58 has a size with which at least one cross-section of the cord 60 can be included therein in a cross-section of the bead 30. Preferably, in the tire 22, the main body 56 includes a hard unit and a soft unit. The soft unit is located outward of the hard unit in a radial direction. A hard cord of the hard unit stretches more easily than a soft cord of the soft unit.

  • Patent number: 10189317
Abstract: A pneumatic tire to reduce separation of a carcass ply from inner and outer core pieces (5i, 5o) and improve steering stability. A radially inner end portion of the carcass ply is held between the inner and outer core pieces (5i, 5o) without turning-up around a bead core. The inner and outer core pieces (5i, 5o) are made of helical body of bead cord (10i, 10o) helically winding around a tire axis. In the inner core piece (5i), the final twisting direction of the bead cord (10i) is the same as the winding direction around the tire axis of the bead cord (10i) in side view from axial outward of the tire. In the outer core piece (5o), the final twisting direction of the bead cord (10o) is opposite to the winding direction of the bead cord (10o).

  • Patent number: 10131189
Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes: a plurality of land portions; and in at least one land portion of the plurality of land portions, a sipe extending in the tread width direction, of which ends open at the circumferential grooves or the tread ends. The sipe has at least one bent portion extending continuously in the extending direction of the sipe from one of the end regions of the sipe to the other end region in the depth direction of the sipe. The at least one bent portion is located on the outer side in the tire radial direction in the center region than in the end regions.

  • Patent number: 10052833
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire including forming a green case by cylindrically winding a tire component member which includes at least one layer of a carcass ply. The green tire is shaped by expanding the green case into a toroidal shape with the supply of a fluid into the green case so that the green case adheres to a tread ring arranged radially outside the green case. The green tire is subjected to vulcanization molding within a mold die. During the shaping of the green tire, the fluid is supplied in accordance with a pressure profile which changes in a stepwise manner. The pressure profile is set such that a former stage pressure which allows the green case to expand to 35% to 40% of a full expansion amount is set lower than a final stage pressure in a final stage.
