  • Patent number: 10086656
Abstract: A heavy-duty tire includes a tread having a main groove continuously extending in a tire circumferential direction, and a first land portion and a second land portion formed adjacent to each other such that the main groove is formed between the first land portion and the second land portion. The first land portion has first lateral grooves such that each first second lateral groove is curved in an S shape, the second land portion has second lateral grooves such that each second lateral groove is curved in an S shape, the first and second lateral grooves are connected such that the first lateral grooves and the second lateral grooves make smooth transition through the main groove, and each of the first and second lateral grooves has a widened portion at position connected to the main groove such that the widened portion increases a groove width gradually toward the main groove.

  • Patent number: 10086658
Abstract: A run-flat tire ensures run-flat durability with a reduced weight. A tire radial outermost carcass ply of two or more carcass plies has tire widthwise inner ends in a crown portion. A bead filler and side reinforcing rubber have an overlapping part in the tire width direction. In a cross section of the run-flat tire in the tire width direction in a state where the run-flat tire is attached to an applicable rim, filled to a specified internal pressure, and placed under no load, a thickness d1 of a sidewall portion at a midpoint in the tire radial direction between a maximum width position of the run-flat tire and a tire radial outermost position of a bead core is greater than a thickness d2 of the sidewall portion at a midpoint in the tire radial direction between the maximum width position of the run-flat tire and a tread edge.

  • Patent number: 10071601
Abstract: Each shoulder land region 4E defined by a shoulder circumferential main groove 3E is provided with a circumferential narrow groove 20 and axially inner and outer shoulder oblique grooves 22 and 21 extending therefrom. The axially outer shoulder oblique grooves 21 are inclined with respect to the tire axial direction to one direction. The axially inner shoulder oblique grooves 22 are inclined with respect to the tire axial direction to one direction opposite to that of the axially outer shoulder oblique grooves 21. Crown oblique grooves 8 are inclined with respect to the tire axial direction to one direction same as that of the axially outer shoulder oblique grooves 21. Imaginary extensions 21K of the axially outer shoulder oblique grooves 21 are not overlapped with openings Q1 of the axially inner shoulder oblique grooves 22 at the circumferential narrow groove 20.

  • Patent number: 10017013
Abstract: In order to suppress an excessive increase in the temperature of a tread section, a tire includes: a first land portion that is formed to a tread section by providing plural circumferential direction grooves extending around a tire circumferential direction at a spacing in a tire width direction, and that includes plural first recesses provided around the tire circumferential direction of a wall face of the first land portion; and a second land portion that has a wider width than the first land portion, and that includes a greater number of second recesses than the number of the first recesses provided around the tire circumferential direction of a wall face of the second land portion.
