  • Patent number: 11147651
Abstract: According to various implementations, a dental cleaning device includes a steam conduit and a cooling fluid conduit. The steam conduit has a distal tip with an opening defined therein that allows steam to be applied intraorally close to a dental implant to flush away bacteria that has colonized on or adjacent the dental implant. The cooling fluid conduit has a distal tip with an opening defined therein that allows a cooling fluid to be applied intraorally close to the dental implant following the application of the steam to cool the tissue and prevent overheating of the tissue and bone adjacent the dental implant. For example, the cooling fluid may be applied intermittently with the steam, or the cooling fluid may be applied continuously while the steam is applied intermittently, according to various implementations.

  • Patent number: 11116613
Abstract: Molds for fabrication of custom and potentially modifiable abutments and impression posts for dental implants with various degrees of angulations (including zero degrees) and various dimensions are provided, with a generally oval shape that expands laterally upwards, a symmetrical or asymmetrical cross-section, and regular surfaces, that are fabricated as one piece, or as two coupling pieces snapping onto each other. Custom abutments achieve the development of a custom gingival emergence profile, three dimensionally, which is potentially modifiable according to the needs of each particular clinical case. Custom impression posts that correspond in dimensions and angulations to the abutments allow the accurate recording and transfer of the developed gingival emergence profile from the mouth onto the working cast, where the final implant prosthesis is fabricated.

  • Patent number: 11109947
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for performing an optical three-dimensional recording by using hand-held dental camera. The camera automatically records a plurality of individual optical recordings in succession at a defined frequency during the measurement. The individual three-dimensional optical recordings are combined into an overall recording of a dental object to be measured and before the measurement is performed, a three-dimensional standard jaw model is displayed using a display device and a first control point on the standard jaw model is displayed using the display device. The hand-held dental camera is then positioned in relation to the object to be recorded in such a way that the camera points at the first control point of the standard jaw model and records a corresponding recording region of the dental object.

  • Patent number: 11083548
Abstract: An orthodontic bite plate has a body with an anterior base for bonding attachment to the lingual surface of an upper anterior tooth, and an occlusal stop having an incisal surface extending across the lingual aspect of the body to limit upward movement of the patient's lower teeth. A vertical channel divides the body gingival to the occlusal stop into opposing lateral wings that are capable of being compressed together by application of a lateral compressive force to deform the base and thereby release the orthodontic bite plate from the tooth. At least one horizontal channel separates the occlusal stop and lateral wings. Optionally, the occlusal stop can include a vertical member that extends gingivally into the vertical channel between the lateral wings.

  • Patent number: 11020208
Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed, by use of which an external fiducial element positioned in the mouth serves as a geometrical constraint on oral arch geometry. In some embodiments, the fiducial element is an oral insert which reaches to a plurality of oral arch regions to present surface details which are in well-defined distance and/or angular relationships to one another. These spatial relationships optionally comprise a spatial frame of reference which serves to constrain reconstruction of the geometry of one or both of the oral arches, for example reconstruction from a collection of digitally registered, partially-overlapping scans made along the oral arch.
