Abstract: In one embodiment of the invention, a training model for students is provided that models how to present training items to students in a computer based adaptive trainer. The training model receives student performance data and uses the training model to infer underlying student skill levels throughout the training sequence. Some embodiments of the training model also comprise machine learning techniques that allow the training model to adapt to changes in students skills as the student performs on training items presented by the training model. Furthermore, the training model may also be used to inform a training optimization model, or a learning model, in the form of a Partially Observable Markov Decision Process (POMDP).
Abstract: Methods for interactive communication between an object and a smart device are provided. Signals can be transmitted from the smart device to the object to control movement of a movable part at the object. Signals can also be transmitted from the smart device to the object to broadcast words and/or songs at a speaker at the object. In addition, in response to a user's touching the object, the object's speaker can broadcast words and/or songs. The signals transmitted from the smart device to the object transceiver can be audio signals so as to create a two-way interactive and live communication. In addition, voice instructions can be spoken into the microphone of the object, and then transmitted from the object to the smart device to initiate an activity at the smart device.
Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a button including a fixed force magnet coupled to a first housing assembly component serving as a top portion of the button, a variable force magnet coupled to a second housing assembly serving as a bottom portion of the button, and a spring coupled to the fixed force magnetic and the variable force magnet for repelling the fixed force magnet from the variable force magnet according to a spring constant of the spring. The variable force magnet emitting a magnetic field to counter the spring constant and thereby adjust a force required to depress the button. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

The game processing unit is configured to: control the user terminal to display colored blocks arranged in a matrix form of N rows and M columns in a puzzle game area, and to display one game character in an action display area; exchange a selected block with another neighboring block based on user input; determine if a matching block group of at least three consecutive blocks having the same color results from the block exchanging step; remove the matching block group; and control the game character to perform an action according to a result of the block removing step.

Abstract: A gaming machine includes a display system, player input system, and processor programmed or otherwise operable to perform a number of operations through the gaming machine hardware to provide a player-interactive feature. The gaming machine is adapted to operate in a base game state in which a base set of symbol locations is populated with game symbols responsive to a play initiation input from the player input system. The gaming machine is also controlled to activate a bonus input device while the gaming machine is in the base game state, and to place the gaming machine in a bonus state in response to a player actuation of the activated bonus input device. In response to a play initiation input while the gaming machine is in the bonus game state, two or more bonus game sets of symbol locations are populated with game symbols for that respective play initiation input.
Abstract: A gambling hybrid game with a gambling integrated game is disclosed. The gambling hybrid game includes a mobile device that provides a dice game as an entertainment game to a user, a real world engine that provides gambling games to one or more users, and a game world engine that monitors the entertainment game and provides gambling games when appropriate. When a die roll event occurs in the dice game, the mobile device resolves the die roll event and provides the results of the die roll event to the game world engine. The game world engine receives the results of the die roll event and determines gambling results based upon the results of the die roll event.

A key phrase in the identified sentence is identified, where the identified key phrase has a key phrase score that exceeds a second threshold value, and an assessment question about the content of the course related to the identified sentence is generated, where the assessment question is based on the identified sentence but where the identified key phrase is not present in the assessment question.
Abstract: A gambling hybrid game that provides a reel game having a display with changeable opacity is disclosed. The gambling hybrid game includes an entertainment system engine that provides an interactive game to a user, a real world engine that provides reel games to the user, and a game world engine that monitors the entertainment game and provides the reel game when appropriate. The real world engine provides the reel game including generating a display of the reel game. During provision of the gambling game, the real world engine determines the state of the interactive game and changes the opacity of the display based upon the state of the game.
