Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method, circuit, and electronic device for controlling a rotation speed of a fan. The method provides a multistage function curve associates temperatures with rotation speed values. The multistage function curve comprises a first steady-state function segment with slope of zero, a second steady-state function segment with slope of zero and N function segments positioned between the first and second steady-state function segments. N is a positive integer. The slope of a (i+1)th function segment is greater than that of an ith function segment, and i is a positive integer in the range from 1 to N. The electronic device comprising the circuit may use the temperature of the processor based on the multistage function curve to dynamically control the rotation speed.

Abstract: A climate control system for a building includes air conditioning systems and ventilation (HVAC) systems. The system is controlled by determining sensible cooling and heating rates using temperature differences at inlets and outlets at evaporators, as well as moisture absorption, moisture desorption, ventilation influences, human activities, and condensation at the evaporator. Humidity differences and temperature differences are determined as driving forces for moisture absorption, desorption, and temperatures and humidities of interior fabrics. The differences are obtained from a thermal circuit model. A latent cooling rate is determined using the humidity differences. The model integrates a temperature model and a humidity model for jointly predicting temperatures and humidities for operating the HVAC systems using a mass transfer process.

Abstract: A predefined mathematical relationship that is stored in the memory of a computing system is accessed, wherein the relationship refers to temperatures of a number of points in the system, wherein the points together define a zone. The mathematical relationship yields a representative temperature for the zone. Temperature data from sensors in the system is obtained and applied to thermal models, to estimate the temperatures of at least some of the points that define the zone. The representative temperature for the zone is computed using the estimated temperatures as input to the mathematical relationship. A decision is then made on whether or not to change a power consuming activity limit in the system, based on the computed representative temperature. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Abstract: A mass flow controller includes a thermal mass flow sensor in combination with a pressure sensor to provide a mass flow controller that is relatively insensitive to fluctuations in input pressure. The pressure sensor and thermal sensor respectively provide signals to an electronic controller indicating the measured inlet flow rate and the pressure within the dead volume. The electronic controller employs the measured pressure to compensate the measured inlet flow rate and to thereby produce a compensated measure of the outlet flow rate, which may be used to operate a mass flow controller control valve.
