Abstract: An agricultural system includes a baler with a plunger and a sensor for sensing a plunger-related value; a vehicle including a power source operable to convey power to the plunger; and a CVT arranged to drive the plunger. In order to balance a fluctuating load of the plunger over the working cycle, an electronic control unit (ECU) is coupled to the sensor and to the CVT and is configured to receive the signal from the sensor and to cause the CVT to modify a gear ratio of the CVT based on the signal from the sensor and on a mathematical model defining a CVT gear ratio variation profile derived from an expected load applied by crop on the plunger over its operating cycle.

Abstract: A shredder includes a feed screw that pushes the items to be shredded and compacted towards an opening in the shredder via a restrictor that includes a pipe portion leading to the opening in the shredder, the shredder includes a drive motor driving a miller screw which shreds the items to be shredded into acquired size against a cutter plate fastened to a cutter housing to form shredded items, and forces the shredded items into a press chamber.
Abstract: A stump grinding apparatus having a split cutting wheel includes several replaceable cutter blocks secured to the periphery of the wheel. One or more replacement teeth are removably anchored in holes in each block and may also be mounted on holes in the side of the split wheel as well. The teeth are typically provided with a hardened cutting face, and are reinforced with an extension projecting back from the face. Each tooth includes a shank which fits into one of the holes. The shank contains a groove which receives a spring clip or a spring pin for securing the tooth in the hole. The wheel periphery contains individual recesses that are shaped to receive the cutter blocks. Each block includes means for insuring alignment of the block in the corresponding recess. The block is wedged tightly into its recess to reduce the likelihood of accidental removal.
