Abstract: A technical solution is described for implementing a computer-executed system of association memory matrices to replace the proximal layers of a convolutional neural network (CNN). An example method includes configuring one Associative Memory Matrix (AMM) for each configured layer in the CNN. This one-to-one conversion method motivates the name to the product: the Joint Proximity Association Template (JPAT) for Neural Networks. The invention is a numerically stable soft-ware based implementation that (1) reduces the long training times, (2) reduces the execution time, and (3) produces bidirectional intra-layer connections and potentially, inter-layer connections as well. The method further includes, potentially, forming a single AMM, from the multiple AMMs corresponding to the multiple and proximal layers of the CNN, in anticipation of the well-known Universal Approximation Theorem.

Abstract: A method of accommodating at least one difference between a first database schema and a second database schema is provided. The method includes receiving a request generated by an application program using a first version of a database schema, and generating a response including a reserved element that corresponds to a custom slot provided in the first version of the database schema. The method further includes communicating the response to the application program.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for optimizing resource utilization in distributed storage systems. A data migration technique is described that may operate in the background in a distributed storage data center to migrate data among a fleet of storage units to achieve a substantially even and randomized data storage distribution among all storage units in the fleet. When new storage units are added to the fleet and coupled to the data center network, the new storage units are detected. Instead of processing and storing new data to the newly added storage units, as in conventional distributed storage systems, the new units are blocked from general client I/O to allow the data migration technique to migrate data from other, previously installed storage hardware in the data center onto the new storage hardware. Once the storage load on the new storage units is balanced with the rest of the fleet, the new storage units are released for general client I/O.

Abstract: A method, system, apparatus, and article of manufacture provides the ability to visualize master data management (MDM) data as part of a MDM workflow user interface (UI) in a computer system. MDM data resides in one or more tables of a relational database management system. An MDM system maintains, as part of a process and framework, a first process workflow to manage relationship data. The relationship data is data required to manage an association of one piece of MDM data to another piece of MDM data. A first process workflow provides a UI node that contains a link to a file that describes UI components to display when the first process workflow is executed. A first component of the UI component identifies an Adobe™ Flex™ based UI component. The Adobe™ Flex™ based UI component enables the representation and viewing of the MDM data in a hierarchy.

Abstract: A method and computer readable medium is described for directing a search engine web crawler's local web browser to refresh the top-level container that is currently displaying the content presented by a remote computer with the new content that a navigational link, within a remote desktop, remote application window, or remote graphical windowing user session, points to. Links can be modified so as to be recognizable by the remote machine as unique from traditional hyperlinks. Upon navigation action on such a link, the client of a remote desktop, remote graphical application window, or remote graphical windowing user session is redirected so that it wholly reloads its computing context with that provided by a destination URL or URI. Such a URL or URI may point to another remote desktop, remote application window, or remote graphical windowing user session.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for policy-based access control in association with a sorted, distributed key-value data store in which keys comprise n-tuple structure that includes a cell-level access control. In this approach, an information security policy is used to create a set of pluggable policies. A pluggable policy may be used during data ingest time, when data is being ingested into the data store, and a pluggable policy may be used during query time, when a query to the data store is received for processing against data stored therein. Generally, a pluggable policy associates one or more user-centric attributes (or some function thereof), to a particular data-centric label. By using pluggable policies, preferably at both ingest time and query time, the data store is enhanced to provide a seamless and secure policy-based access control mechanism in association with the cell-level access control enabled by the data store.

This includes the means to manipulate content and/or data through a visual and/or multi-sensatory interface that stores content and media in a nested and sub-nested hierarchical container and sub-container array which can give real-time feedback to any involved party. These containers and/or panels provide a means to permanently move and validate content between servers, devices and/or users, while giving a real-time visual and/or multi-sensatory response and representation to that user. This system also provides a means to ingest and convert legacy media formats.

Abstract: Methods, computer systems, and stored instructions are described herein for densely grouping dimensional data and/or aggregating data using a data structure, such as one that is constructed based on dimensional data. When smaller tables are joined with a larger table, a server may analyze the smaller tables first to determine actual value combinations that occur in the smaller tables, and these actual value combinations are used to more efficiently process the larger table. A dense data structure may be generated by processing dimensional data before processing data from fact table. The dense data structure may be generated by compressing ranges of values that are possible in dimensions into a range of values that actually occurs in the dimensions. The compressed range of values may be represented by dense set identifiers rather than the actual compressed range of values.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for organizing data using basic atomic units of information includes generating an object of interest (OI) comprising an OI name and an OI description. The OI is a basic atomic unit of information. The OI comprises an audience and data associated with the OI is searchable. The method includes assigning one or more characteristics to the OI. The one or more characteristics of the OI are searchable. A first OI is linked with one or more second OIs having at least one overlapping audience or characteristic. The second OI is accessible by a link displayed in the first OI. The first OI is displayed in a visual format that is accessible to a plurality of users.

Abstract: An approach for managing memory usage in cloud and traditional environments using usage analytics is disclosed. The approach may be implemented in a computer infrastructure including a combination of hardware and software. The approach includes determining that space is available within one or more tables which have schema definitions with string fields having a predefined length. The approach further includes creating a virtual table and mapping the available space to the virtual table for population by one or more records.
