Abstract: The Common Point Authoring system functions to provide Livestock Informational Objects via the use of a centralized repository of uniquely identified, immutable Livestock Informational Objects. This system automates the authoring, maintenance, and distribution of the Livestock Informational Objects by using an Internet-based paradigm and a centralized repository of uniquely-identified, immutable Data Elements. The Common Point Authoring system provides a set of software modules that the manufacturers can use to author, maintain, and distribute Livestock Informational Objects and their customers, as Members of the system of Livestock Informational Objects, can use to retrieve, maintain, and distribute the Livestock Informational Objects. The system's interconnectivity allows for the use of an Internet-based paradigm for the purchase and sale among Members of the system of Livestock Informational Objects as commodities, and for reducing the burden costs among Members of compliance with government regulations.

Abstract: An embodiment relates to a novel apparatus and method for changing modes of notification in an electronic device. An electronic device includes a calendar application and a variety of other applications such as the message reader application or the daily alarm application. The device is configured to use the calendar application to track whether and how the user is notified of the receipt of an electronic message. In one embodiment, the user specifically associates a profile behavior to the calendar entry when the calendar entry is first created.

Abstract: An information system (IS) architecture comprising an application environment operative to develop, run and edit on the fly any IS application, and a database environment coupled to the application environment and including a generic and rigid schema operative to represent all business and application components of any application in the application environment as records of the generic and rigid schema. The generic and rigid schema provides an on the fly capability to change any business component or application component in a run time application, thereby leaving the schema and the application environment unchanged during system operation.

Abstract: Methods, computer-readable media, and apparatuses may be configured to detect anomalous activity. Electronic information utilized to detect anomalous activity may be consolidated from multiple data feeds. This electronic information may relate to: extrusion violations, failed logins, sensitive fields access, sensitive objects access, escalation of privileges, or activity during a specific time frame within a time period, and combinations of one or more of these. A de-duplication module may be configured to detect duplicate information or activity events, wherein the duplicate data may be removed and/or consolidated.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for information modeling, such as product modeling, are described. In one specific embodiment, a system for capturing product information includes a plurality of product trees and a plurality of configuration trees. Each configuration tree is associated with one of the plurality of product trees. At least two of the configuration trees share at least one usage configuration node, and the at least two configuration trees are associated with a same product tree. The at least two configuration trees share at least one occurrence configuration node.

Abstract: A system and method automatically backup unsaved data in a communication device if a back cover of the communication device is removed. An identifier of an application of the communication device is received. Based on the received identifier, an application corresponding to the received identifier is registered. If the back cover of the communication device is removed, a save signal is sent to the registered application and the unsaved data of the registered application is saved to a storage unit of the communication device.

Abstract: A method of timing and recording user activity in a knowledge archival and recollection system, the method comprising: configuring an activity tracking module; logging into the knowledge archival and recollection system; prompting the user with a task identifier input interface upon opening an application user interface; initiating a timer upon input into the input interface; stopping the timer upon inactive application interface; and storing timer data into a database server.

Abstract: A computer implemented method of recording user activity in a knowledge archival and recollection system, comprising: initiating a network browser plug-in on detecting that a network browser has been opened; providing at least one file to a user from the network; transmitting and storing at least one file to a file archive using a file transfer protocol; gathering user activity data for each said at least one file accessed; associating user activity data to each related file; transmitting and storing user activity data to a database server using a database connection protocol; and indexing each file.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of extracting informative phrases from a full corpus of documents. An index of phrases contained in the full corpus of documents is built. Then, a user specifies a subset of text to analyze. The subset may be defined as: (1) all paragraphs or sentences containing terms selected as defining a subject; (2) all documents in a category; (3) all documents written within a date range; and/or (3) all documents matching a Boolean query of terms. Once the subset is specified, it is analyzed to extract informative phrases. Specifically, the index is queried to retrieve all phrases within the subset. The number of times each of the phases occurs in the subset and in the corpus is counted. Each phrase contained in the subset is scored according to informativeness based on a comparison of a likelihood that the phrase occurs in the subset and a likelihood that the phrase occurs in the corpus as a whole.

Abstract: A system to automatically generate query language in software is described. The system receives a request for data that is persistently stored in a database. The system selects a predefined query template from a number of query templates based on the request. The system utilizes the query template to receive content from at least one different source, the first source being a prototype data object. The system generates a query statement based on the query template that includes the content. Finally the system queries the database using the query statement to retrieve the requested data.

Abstract: A system for controlling a rendering engine by using specialized commands. The commands are used to generate a production, such as a television show, at an end-user's computer that executes the rendering engine. In one embodiment, the commands are sent over a network, such as the Internet, to achieve broadcasts of video programs at very high compression and efficiency. Commands for setting and moving camera viewpoints, animating characters, and defining or controlling scenes and sounds are described. At a fine level of control math models and coordinate systems can be used make specifications. At a coarse level of control the command language approaches the text format traditionally used in television or movie scripts. Simple names for objects within a scene are used to identify items, directions and paths. Commands are further simplified by having the rendering engine use defaults when specifications are left out.

Abstract: Methods and products for storing data for synchronizing one or more files between two or more nodes. One embodiment of the method includes commencing to create a metadata object associated with a file to be synchronized: determining a file location on the or each node; adding the file location of the or each node to the metadata object such that the metadata object includes details relating to the file and the location thereof in one or more of the two or more nodes; and making the metadata object available to predetermined users via a central server.

Abstract: A database design modeling system for managing data facets for design scenarios as a collection of hierarchical unitized data alternatives is provided. The database design model allows for easy access to data while providing a single persistant location for any one specific data record, thereby reducing any problems associated with conventional data duplication. Further, all data stored within the database is unitized thus eliminating the need for the user to do the unit mapping.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for ranking document data retrieved from a data source in response to a search request. A ranking system retrieves document data from documents in the data source that each includes at least one key term that matches a search term in the search request. For each document, a term frequency value is calculated based on a number of occurrences of the key term in the document. Prefix and suffix term rules are used to determine whether a particular occurrence of the key term in a particular document should be included in determining a term weight value for that particular occurrence of the key term. A relevancy ranking value is determined for each document based on the corresponding term frequency and term weight values. The document data is displayed according to each document's corresponding relevancy ranking value.

Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for presenting a quantity of information in a single tool. Such a tool includes a map of various objects, the objects having themes relating to a given overall concept, wherein at least one object contains information relating to other objects that have a relationship with that object.

Abstract: Collecting and distributing information related to recent content publication activity of an instant messaging (IM) user provides other users in a network with timely, relevant information about people known to the user or within the same social network. A user participating in a social network can quickly and efficiently perceive new information related to other users (referred to as co-users) in a social network by reviewing the co-users' recent content publication activity. A user may be made able to do so without requiring the co-user to send a communication directly to the user regarding the new facts or new content, and also without requiring the user to actively browse or request information about the co-user.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for inserting a PDF shared resource back into a PDF statement is provided. The method includes storing a set of statements, wherein each statement has been extracted from a document and each statement contains indirect objects. A set of resources is then stored, wherein the resources have been extracted from the document, and the resources include a set of indirect objects. All of the indirect objects in a selected one of the stored statements are then enumerated and a determination is made of which of the indirect objects contain keys. A key value for the enumerated indirect objects containing keys is then read, and the indirect objects in the stored set of resources associated with each key are identified. Stream data is then copied from the indirect objects in the stored set of resources into the selected ones of the stored statements.

Abstract: Resources are provisioned in an automated manner for shared services in a resource-on-demand system. A model representing an observed state of resources in the resource-on-demand system allocated to the shared services and a model representing a desired state of the shared services are stored. At least one policy applicable to provisioning the resources for the shared services is determined. The policy and information from the models are applied to automatically provision the resources for satisfying the desired state of the shared services.

Abstract: Transactions with respect to database operations are fingerprinted by associating transaction identifiers with logged information about those database operations. An SQL query is obtained prior to its evaluation by a database engine. A transaction identifier to be associated with the SQL query is also obtained. The SQL query is then modified to generate a modified SQL query, wherein the modified SQL query includes a WHERE clause that contains an expression that always evaluates to a logical true value, and wherein the expression contains the transaction identifier. The modified SQL query is then sent to the database engine for evaluation within the data processing system. When the processing of the modified SQL query is logged with a copy of the modified SQL query, the logged information contains a copy of the transaction identifier.

Abstract: A system generates a model based on feature data relating to different features of a link from a linking document to a linked document and user behavior data relating to navigational actions associated with the link. The system also assigns a rank to a document based on the model.
