Patent number: 4678929Abstract: In a radio frequency switch, a pair of diodes is coupled in series with polarities opposed between input and output ports. A shunt diode is coupled between the junction point of the pair of diodes and a point of reference potential. A transistor has its main conduction path coupled between the junction point and the point of reference potential. When the switch is to couple a signal between the input and output ports, a control arrangement applies bias tending to forward bias the pair of diodes, to reverse bias the shunt diode and cut off conduction through the transistor.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1985Date of Patent: July 7, 1987Assignee: RCA CorporationInventors: Feroz K. Patent number: 4678925Abstract: An electrical switching system for adjusting the brightness of the dashboard lights of a motor vehicle includes a switch provided with a switch lever, for switching between low beam and high beam. Improvements are made whereby the brightness and dazzle-free character of the dashboard lighting can be adjusted with regard to the situation of low beam or high beam. This is achieved in that a switch between brighter dashboard lighting and less bright dashboard lighting is provided which is associated with a switch lever which can be moved to "high beam" and "low beam" positions. Dazzling of the driver due to excessively bright dashboard lighting, and lack of visibility due to inadequately bright dashboard lighting are avoided.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1986Date of Patent: July 7, 1987Inventor: Diethelm Grocke

Patent number: 4675585Abstract: The electric vehicle driven by a DC motor having a field winding. An electric resistance element can be switched into parallel circuit with the field winding to weaken the field and increase potential motor speed. A relay operates the switch, a Hall-effect switch responsive to motor rotation produces voltage pulses indicative of motor speed. A microcomputer counts pulses in a given time period to determine motor speed and compares the speed with that in the prior period to determine whether the motor speed is increasing or decreasing. The computer is programmed to operate the relay to close the switch as the motor speed increases above a first speed and to open the switch as motor speed subsequently decreases to a second speed lower than said first speed. The computer is programmed to respond to a third speed greater than the first speed to operate the relay to open said switch to prevent overspeed.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1984Date of Patent: June 23, 1987Assignee: Outboard Marine CorporationInventors: William R.
