Abstract: The baby carseat reminder system is an alarm and sensor system that attaches to the seat belt buckle. The baby carseat reminder system senses when the belt connector of a seat belt properly attaches to the anchor connector of the seatbelt. The baby carseat reminder system senses when the span of the distance between the seat belt buckle and an alarm fob is greater than a previously determined distance. The baby carseat reminder system generates a visual signal when the belt connector is properly inserted into the anchor connector. The baby carseat reminder system generates an audible and tactile alarm when the span of the distance between the seat belt buckle and the alarm fob is greater than a previously determined distance.

  • Patent number: 10725434
Abstract: An alarm unit includes an apparatus and a method of maximizing the efficiency of an alarm function that wakes up a sleeping user. An image input unit capable of photographing an eye image as a criterion for determining if the user has woken up is mounted on an alarm control apparatus. The image input unit mounted alarm control apparatus photographs a face image of the user, detects the eye region from the face image, and then determines a state of whether the user has woken up or not based on movement of the pupils in the eye region. If it is determined that the user keeps a waking state for a certain time, an alarm function is cancelled. By doing this, the alarm unit can help prevent the user from easily cancelling an alarm and maximize the efficiency of an alarm function that wakes up a sleeping user.

  • Patent number: 10723351
Abstract: A vehicle safety system includes one or more sensors interfaced to an index vehicle and a computer that is operatively interfaced to the one or more sensors, thereby the computer obtains sensor data from the one or more sensors. One or more propulsion devices are operatively coupled to the computer such that the computer controls activation of each propulsion device. The computer executes software that causes the computer to iteratively calculate a size of a safety zone based upon the sensor data and to iteratively determine if an object enters the safety zone as well as if a collision with the object is imminent. If it is determined that the collision with the object is imminent, the software causes the computer to signal one or more of the propulsion devices to emit a jet of liquid, thereby decelerating and/or changing direction of the index vehicle and/or of the object.

  • Patent number: 10712445
Abstract: Objects are sensed by a distance sensor of a vehicle. Reflected signals are received as echo signals by the driving-environment sensor. Object distance is calculable, for example, from the propagation time of the signals. Of the sensed objects, those objects are identified which, e.g., based on their spatial disposition, are parking-space-delimiting objects. It is possible to differentiate between objects delimiting a parking space to the side (e.g., parked vehicles) and lateral parking-space delimitations (e.g., a curbstone) by evaluating the echo signals. The parking-space-delimiting objects are classified through characteristic structures of the echo signals assigned to the parking-space-delimiting objects, and an object class is assigned to each parking-space-delimiting object.
