  • Patent number: 6108815
Abstract: A convertible garment comprises a jacket and optional pants. The pants which are attached at an upper end thereof to a lower end of the jacket include a pair of flexible leg panels each having adapted to be reversibly displaced between open and closed positions, wherein, in the closed position, each leg panel forms a hollow pant leg capable of surrounding a user's leg, whereas, when the leg panels are in the open position, the leg panels can be bundled up adjacent the lower end of the jacket in a storage position of the pants such that the garment only acts as a jacket. A pocket is formed on the inside of the lower end of the jacket to accommodate the pants in their storage position.

  • Patent number: 5956761
Abstract: A jacket for use during hair coloring is described. The jacket is composed of two layers of plastic film and the jacket is disposable. The jacket comprises a body portion arranged to be fitted over the torso of an individual, two sleeve portions arranged to be fitted over the arms of the individual and a flared neck portion arranged to be rolled over and under the collar of the individual. It is of note that the jacket is arranged to fit loosely over the clothing of the individual for greater comfort. As a result of this arrangement, the above-described jacket protects the clothing and the neck region of the individual from damage by the chemicals used during the hair coloring process.

  • Patent number: 5671481
Abstract: A sweatband is made at least partially of towel fabric, and may be composed of two, three, or more plies (20, 90, 170) of fabric. Fabric material is cut, sewed, and folded to a shape adapted to provide an interior portion for carrying small articles and/or for cleaning or drying other articles. The interior portion of some embodiments has a laterally-opening pocket (100) which is folded longitudinally along a fold line (40) when in use. Other embodiments have an elastic strip (160) which folds transversely inside a fold connecting two side portions. The elastic strip (160) provides an expandable opening for inserting fingers. The elastic strip may be attached to the interior portion of the sweatband at one or more intermediate places along the length of the elastic strip, to define separate loops (225) for two or more individual fingers.Fasteners (140, 150), such as hook-and-loop fastener strips at the two ends, provide for connecting the ends to make a closed loop to fit a wrist.

  • Patent number: 5564123
Abstract: A single piece upper garment provides for ease of donning and removal by a physically challenged person and/or assistant or caretaker. The garment is formed of one or more sheets or sections of material in which all openings (neck, arms, and torso or trunk) are separable along at least one seam thereof, so the garment may be laid out substantially flat. The back portion may be placed against the back of a person (or the person may lie on the back portion), and the front portion wrapped around the person and closed along a lateral seam, similar to a conventional sewn side seam in a shirt or the like. The shoulders may then be closed, and the sleeves (if any) wrapped about the arms and closed, thereby providing a garment having a conventional appearance but providing for ease of donning and removal. The garment may include pockets and other conventional features, and may also include decorative but non-functional components such as a simulated front buttoned closure.
