  • Patent number: 10048677
Abstract: A numerical controller decodes a block read out from a machining program, calculates execution data to be used for control over a machine tool, and determines whether a travel amount resulting from travel instructions for control axes of the machine tool is existent or not based on the calculated execution data. If the travel amount resulting from the travel instructions for the control axes is not existent as a result of such determination, processes for the present block are omitted and cycle time is thereby shortened.

  • Patent number: 9921572
Abstract: Finite element methods for compensating for springback in aircraft parts meet the visual appearance and aerodynamics of complex parts including those made of fabricated sheet metal. The methods can be used to make narrow parts (e.g., leading edge and slats) and double negative curvature parts, and do not need to leave marks on the surface of the sheet so that visual aspects are not adversely affected. The point to point compensation technique uses approach equations with constants adjustable for curves. The constant(s) used depend on geometry and type of forming (e.g., stretch or hydraulic press). Use of mechanical properties of the material is not required.

  • Patent number: 9841201
Abstract: This invention relates to methods and systems for limiting consumption, particularly power consumption, more particularly by appliances in a building, and is generally suitable for integration with building management systems. Embodiments of the invention provide arrangements in which the aggregated power load of a plurality of appliances is capped to a selected value (which may be arbitrary, or may be dictated by conditions) while seeking to minimize the deviation from target environmental conditions within the building through a combination of distributed decision making by the appliances themselves and centralized orchestration, which may be informed by real-time sensor readings and/or known properties of the building. The distributed decision-making by individual devices may be based on projected deviation from the target conditions after a period of activity or inactivity but with a central controller which determines which devices should be switched on.

  • Patent number: 9789555
Abstract: In the present invention, when performing electrical discharge machining on a workpiece via an electrical discharge machine that has an electrode holder and an electrode guide, a workpiece model and an electrode-guide model are generated in advance, an interference-start position at which the electrode-guide model starts interfering with the workpiece model when the electrode-guide model is moved towards the workpiece model along an axis line (CLa) is calculated, and a position obtained by moving the electrode-guide model a prescribed distance away from the workpiece model, starting at the interference-start position, is set as an electrode-guide position. With the electrode guide positioned at the electrode-guide position, the electrode holder is moved downwards in order to move an electrode downwards toward the workpiece surface, and electrical discharge machining is performed on the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 9778647
Abstract: In a work machine which includes a working head including a lifting and lowering unit including a working device and a first lifting and lowering device which lifts and lowers the working device, and a second lifting and lowering device which lifts and lowers the lifting and lowering unit, a positional deviation (?x, ?y) of the working device in a direction which is perpendicular to a lifting and lowering direction is eliminated. Since the positional deviation is caused by both an inclination of a lifting and lowering axis line L1 of the working device by the first lifting and lowering device and an inclination of a lifting and lowering axis line L2 of the lifting and lowering unit by the second lifting and lowering device, based on positional deviation data a target moving position is corrected.

  • Patent number: 9778286
Abstract: A network of sensors is associated with a power distribution network. Sensors are positioned at each connecting line in the vicinity of each node of the power distribution network. The sensors regularly report the following measured data to the central processing unit: a geographical position of each sensor, direction of the energy flow relative to the nearest node; and value of RMS current synchronously measured over the entire network and averaged over chosen averaging period. The central processing unit includes an arrangement for receiving the measured data and using this data for constructing and updating a graph and a state of the power distribution network.
