Abstract: A bone plate for a fracture between an epiphysis and a diaphysis has an outer part unitarily formed with a fan-shaped outer end having a plurality of outer holes and an inner end extending from the outer end. A bar-shaped inner part has an outer end juxtaposed with the inner end of the outer part and formed inward of its outer end with a plurality of inner holes. A pivot is provided between the inner end of the outer part and the outer end of the inner part. Formations juxtaposed with the pivot on the inner end of the outer part and on the outer end of the inner part are lockable together in each of a plurality of angularly offset fixed positions of the inner and outer parts. When the formations are pressed together the inner and outer parts are locked angularly relative to each other.

Abstract: A bone fixation system has a first fixation device. The first fixation device has a first longitudinally extending bone insertion blade having an orienting portion, and a first plate extending transversely from the first bone insertion blade and positionable along a surface of a bone. The bone fixation system further has a second fixation device. The second fixation device has second longitudinally extending bone insertion blade orientatively interactive with the orienting portion, and a second plate extending transversely from the second bone insertion blade and positionable along the surface of the bone adjacent the first plate. When assembled, the second bone insertion blade has an orientation that is based on an orientation of the orienting portion.
Abstract: A system for preparing a proximal femur can include a broach that includes a broach body having an anterior side, a posterior side, a lateral side and a medial side. The medial side can have a roughened cutting surface. The lateral side can have a smooth, non-cutting surface. The system can further include a cutting scribe assembly and a cutting guide assembly.

Abstract: A bone preparation device for shaping endplates forming an intervertebral disc space between two adjacent vertebrae includes a cutter component and a cutter-positioner component. The cutter-positioner is arranged to limit the distal travel of the cutter component and to restrict the range of motion of the distal end of the cutter component. The bone preparation device also includes a rotational interface between the cutter component and the cutter-positioner component. The rotational interface is structurally arranged to permit the cutting blade to be rotated at the same time the cutter component is restricted in its range of motion.

Abstract: The invention provides systems and methods for sternum repair. A sternum repair device may include a central body, which may include a plurality of bands and buckles, such that a band extends from the central body and is received by a buckle component. The band may wrap around the sternum and the device may be tightened to keep the separate sternum pieces together.

Abstract: A modular prosthesis rasp is provided, having a rasp body with a rasp main body and at least one modular rasp body part connectable to the main body. The rasp main body has a receptacle for receiving the at least one rasp body part. An outer contour is defined by the rasp main body and the at least one rasp body part. The rasp body part receptacle extends from an indentation, defining a distal end of the receptacle, on a lateral side of the rasp main body to a proximal end thereof. A first tangential plane of the lateral side of the outer contour in the region of the indentation and a second tangential plane at a rasp body part contact surface, in the region of the distal end of the receptacle include an indentation angle of less than 85°.
Abstract: The present teachings provide one or more surgical implements for repairing damaged tissue, such as in the case of a fixation procedure. For example, a system is provided that includes a bone plate having a first plurality of apertures and a targeting arm having a second plurality of apertures. Each of the second plurality of apertures of the targeting arm are configured for targeting of a bone fastener to one of first plurality of apertures. An imaginary targeting line extends from a first aperture of the first plurality of apertures to a first aperture of the second plurality of apertures. The system includes a mounting member, which includes a first end secured to the bone plate and a second end secured to the targeting arm. The second end of the mounting member is offset from the first end such that the second end is spaced from the imaginary targeting line.
Abstract: The invention relates to an osteosynthesis device having a plate (10) which includes a recess (12) which defines an inner edge (22) and receives ring (14) designed to receive the pin (20). According to the invention, the plate (10) has a threaded opening (26) on the edge of the recess (12), which opens into the inner edge (22), while the ring (14) is slit radially. The device includes a screw (32) that can be screwed through the threaded opening (26) so as to bear against the ring (14) and cause the ring (14) to bear with force against a portion of the inner edge (22) and tighten the ring (14) on the pin (20).
