  • Patent number: 9497013
Abstract: The present approach is applied to a case where, in a radio communication system including a mobile station and a plurality of base stations that communicate with the mobile station in subframe units, each of the plural base stations makes the downlink transmission power to become lower by restricting downlink signals in particular subframes. Herein, the mobile station, if it is a mobile station that cannot designate two types of subframes for performing CQI measurement, calculates a single type of CQI in the cell formed by the base station without recognizing the particular subframes that the base station transmitted and transmits the calculated CQI value to the base station. Each of the plural base stations, when receiving a CQI value from the mobile station, corrects the CQI value into two types if the mobile station is a mobile station that cannot designate two types of subframes for performing CQI measurement.

  • Patent number: 9392485
Abstract: Systems and methods for sending data packets to a wireless device are provided. An access node can determine a number of wireless devices in communication with the access node that meets a signal quality criteria. The access node can determine when the number of wireless devices that meets the signal quality criteria exceeds a threshold. The access node can receive from a content node first multimedia broadcast service (MBMS) data. The access node can encode the first MBMS data into second MBMS data when the number of wireless devices that meets the signal quality criteria exceeds the threshold. The encoding can be based on the number of wireless devices in communication with the access node that meets the signal quality criteria, a load at the content node, a load at the access node, and a bit error rate of each wireless device in communication with the access node.

  • Patent number: 9356664
Abstract: Explicit feedback format within single user, multiple user, multiple access, and/or MIMO wireless communications. A beamformer provides a first communication to a beamformee, and based thereon, the beamformee may ascertain certain characteristics associated with the type and format of feedback to be provided to the beamformee via a second communication from the beamformee to the beamformer. For example, the first communication may include indication of a current operational mode, such as whether it is in accordance with single-user multiple input multiple output (SU-MIMO) or multi-user multiple-input-multiple-output (MU-MIMO). Also, the first communication may indicate a requested steering matrix's rank to be employed in accordance with subsequent beamforming by the beamformer. Also, additional information such as that pertaining to per-tone SNR values for each respective space-time stream, per-tone or per-sub-band eigen-values, the particular channel width being employed (e.g., 20, 40, 80, or 160 MHz), etc.

  • Patent number: 9331942
Abstract: A network switch includes a memory configurable to store alternate table representations of an individual trie in a hierarchy of tries. A prefix table processor accesses in parallel, using an input network address, the alternate table representations of the individual trie and searches for a longest prefix match in each alternate table representation to obtain local prefix matches. The longest prefix match from the local prefix matches is selected. The longest prefix match has an associated next hop index base address and offset value. A next hop index processor accesses a next hop index table in the memory utilizing the next hop index base address and offset value to obtain a next hop table pointer. A next hop processor accesses a next hop table in the memory using the next hop table pointer to obtain a destination network address.
