  • Patent number: 8700220
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for optimizing oil and gas wells. Some embodiments may include optimizing a gas well based upon continuous measurements of the well's operating parameters, such as casing pressure draw down and/or line pressure surges. These continuous measurements of the well's parameters may be utilized to derive an empirical model of the well's behavior that is more accurate than conventional approaches with respect to the various stages of well production. In other words, by measuring the well's operating parameters continuously and measuring certain well parameters (like casing pressure draw down and/or surges in line pressure from opening the well), the empirical model derived therefrom may provide more accurate control of turn on criteria of the well than conventional approaches, such as during the mature production stage of production of the well.

  • Patent number: 8644974
Abstract: A computerized system and method for supply chain order aids a manufacturer's production control departments in setting manufacturer production schedules and purchase schedules. A computerized production control system in communication with a computerized ordering system presents a consistent demand level to reduce changes to the purchase and delivery schedules. A next day production schedule is adjusted to keep total demand within the supply chain constant. At the end of a production day, actual production is compared to an original production plan to calculate an adjustment value. The adjustment value is applied to the next day's production schedule to revise the production schedule. If the actual number of units produced is lower than the planned number of units, units are added to the next day's purchase schedule to determine a revised purchase schedule. Other adjustments may be made if the actual number of units produced exceeds the planned number of units.

  • Patent number: 8639364
Abstract: Control programs for robotic systems are synchronized through the use of synchronization objects which control access to shared resources and allow for sequencing of events in separate program threads. Where necessary, partner objects generate between control programs and synchronization objects to assure uniform interaction between control program threads and synchronization objects. As all synchronization objects contain searchable partner lists, actual simulated and runtime deadlocks including any type of synchronization object can be detected, and the full system can be analyzed to identify potential deadlocks.

  • Patent number: 8577506
Abstract: A control valve conditioning method in an electrohydraulic pressure control unit comprising at least one electrically triggered solenoid valve that is controlled in an analog manner. The solenoid valve is operated at a specific operating current according to a functional correlation or characteristic diagram between the valve current and the differential pressure characteristic curve when the pressure is controlled, said functional correlation or characteristic diagram being stored in the pressure control unit. The method comprises the following steps: a) temporarily applying at least one anti-hysteresis pulse to the solenoid valve during which a current is set far below or far above the operating current in the valve; b) applying the anti-hysteresis pulse at the desired operating current before or during controlled operation, and c) applying the anti-hysteresis pulse wherein the duration is limited in such a way that the anti-hysteresis pulse has largely no influence on the brake pressure.
