  • Patent number: 5180939
Abstract: An improved device for generating an alternating electrical current is disclosed, employing a stationary electrical exciter coil and inductive ouptut coil, and a pair of reciprocating elements to selectively alternate between a plurality of magnetic flux field paths. The reciprocating elements each have relatively staggered magnetically permeable portions for alternatingly establishing one of the magnetic flux field paths. The alternating flux field paths, each passing through the center axis of the inductive output coil, cause the reversal of the direction of magnetic flux flow through the center axis, inducing the inductive coil to generate an alternating output current.

  • Patent number: 5107156
Abstract: The synchronous motor includes at its rotor a thin-walled cylindrical cup member. This cup member includes at its outer side a plurality of rings which are electrically insulated against each other. A plurality of rod shpaed permanent magnets are in turn arranged at the surface of the rings and extend parallel to the rotor axis. Preferably a braking unit is located at the inside between the inner side of the cup and the rotor shaft which unit act as a standstill brake.

  • Patent number: 4801834
Abstract: A rotor assembly includes a flux ring comprising a generally cylindrical ring of magnetic flux conducting material. A plurality of circumferentially spaced reinforcing ribs are fastened to the ring, each of the ribs projecting radially outward of the ring and extending axially for substantially the length thereof. A separate body of magnetic material is fastened to the ring between each adjacent pair of ribs.

  • Patent number: 4308478
Abstract: A lubrication system for an electric motor or other dynamoelectric machine in which a first or lubricant applying wick is inserted into a receptacle in the hub of the end shield of the motor. A first portion of this wick extends inwardly toward the rotor shaft for contact therewith and for the application of lubricant thereto. Another portion of this wick is tapered (i.e., inclined with respect to the longitudinal centerline of the motor) and cammingly engages a portion of the hub when the wick is retained in its installed position so as to urge or force the first portion of the wick inwardly toward the shaft and to positively maintain lubricant applying contact between the wick and the shaft. A reservoir wick engages the first wick so as to supply lubricant to the first wick.
