Abstract: The present invention relates to an indoor aquaponics assembly which includes a base, an aquarium positioned above and supported by the base, a planter positioned above the aquarium, an aquarium conduit and a planter conduit. The planter is provided with at least two through holes facing towards the aquarium, one being adapted for a water drainage tube to pass through for draining water from the planter to the aquarium, and one being adapted for a tube of a pump to pass through for pumping water from the aquarium to the planter. The present invention aims at reducing the time and efforts required for caring and maintaining the aquarium and the plants.

Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to trimming shears for cutting (or trimming) a claw of a domesticated animal. The trimming shears include a first handle, a second handle, and at least one blade. Pivotal movement of the first handle relative to the second handle urges the blade between a pre-cut position and a cut position. The transition from the pre-cut position to the cut position being configured to cut a claw positioned in the blade path. The trimming shears may further include a guide for receiving a respective claw and guiding the claw to be positioned within the blade path. In one example, the guide may include a single aperture, wherein an effective opening area of the aperture is adjustable to accommodate a respective claw. In another example, the guide may include a plurality of apertures, each sized for receiving a respective claw size.

Abstract: A device and method are provided for enhancing the feeding response of larval fish to feedstock. A food distribution mechanism is positionable above the tank housing the larval fish and is adapted for receiving the feedstock therein. The food distribution mechanism selectively deposits portions of the feedstock into the tank. A light source is positionable adjacent the tank and selectively directs a laser beam at the tank. A controller is operatively connected to the food distribution mechanism and the light source. The controller is configured to actuate the food distribution mechanism for a time period at selected intervals such that the food distribution mechanism deposits a portion of the feedstock into the tank during each time period. In addition, the controller is configured to actuate the light source for at least a portion of each time period.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a device that satisfies the need for a youth/small person stirrup attachment for an adult sized saddle to accommodate needs of a youth/small person saddle without the expense of a uniquely sized saddle for the child. The attachment has: a middle portion for support of a child/youth; a front portion of the attachment coupled to an adult saddle horn; a stretchable strap coupled on a first end to a rear portion of the attachment; a second end of the stretchable strap coupled to a rear portion of the adult saddle; a bottom portion of has attachment having a friction layer between the attachment and a top layer of the adult saddle; and a pair of stirrups with each stirrup coupled to a side of the middle area of the attachment by a stirrup adjustment portion. Such an attachment enhances the safety and comfort of said child/youth while riding a horse.

Abstract: An animal litter composition having reduced adhesive properties, and a related method, are disclosed. The animal litter can include a clay-based liquid absorbing material, a filler including one or both of the following: a non-absorbent, non-soluble substrate; an absorbent substrate, and at least one oil present in an amount such that the animal litter composition has a total oil content of about 1.0% by weight to about 7.5% by weight based on the total weight of the animal litter composition.

Abstract: The specification discloses a DWC hydroponic system that includes a plurality of grow tanks, a circulation pump, a nutrient supply line fluidly connecting the outlet of the circulation pump to the grow tanks, and a tank drain line fluidly connected to the grow tanks. Each of the grow tanks is fluidly connected in parallel between the nutrient supply line and the tank drain line. The system further includes a pump suction line fluidly connected to the inlet of the circulation pump, and a plurality of bridge connectors each fluidly connecting the tank drain line to the pump suction line in accordance with a defined pattern. The DWC system may further include a nutrient supply fluidly connected to the circulation pump intake through a valve arrangement.

Abstract: A pet grooming tool is provided with a fur ejector portion that is at least partially movable relative to the teeth of the pet grooming tool and can be manually moved into engagement with fur that is wedged or lodged between the teeth. The engagement of the fur ejector portion with the fur forces the fur from the gaps between the teeth. Preferably, the fur ejector portion can be manually moved by the same hand a person uses to support and hold the grooming tool.

Abstract: The invention presents a harness assembly for lifting and supporting an animal in mobility. The assembly comprises a front and rear harness sections releasably attached by a lifting leash. Both the front and rear harness sections can be used independently. Both the front and rear harness sections are comprised of upper and lower sections releasably attached to one another. The rear harness section lifts the animal from both the hips and waist resulting in less stress than other devices.

Abstract: A vertically-stacked growing system includes vertical beams and horizontal shelves respectively arranged on different vertical levels, Each horizontal shelf has a length and a width, and includes horizontal structural supports coupled to at least some of the vertical beams, decking coupled to the horizontal structural supports, and multiple walls to form a shallow pond when the horizontal shelf contains a plant nutrient water culture, thereby constituting a growing layer of the growing system. The walls include two side walls along the length and two end walls along the width. Each horizontal shelf further includes a loading and/or unloading apparatus to facilitate loading and/or unloading of a plurality of rafts into and/or out of the shallow pond, via the two end walls, wherein respective rafts of the plurality of rafts include a plurality of germinated plants.

Abstract: A modular animal pen system comprises front and rear panels and opposed side panels extending between the front and rear panels to form a primary enclosure. The front panel has adjacent doorway apertures formed therein to receive respective selectively closable gates, and a mullion is disposed between the doorway apertures. The mullion has a first slot, and a second slot in the rear panel is in registration with the first slot. The animal pen system further comprises a removable divider panel whose longitudinal ends are sized to fit removably within the respective slots so that the divider panel can divide the primary enclosure into two secondary enclosures. The side and divider panels may be formed by interchangeable profile panels, and the front and rear panels may be formed by interchangeable face panels connectable end-to-end to form a junction slot therebetween sized to receive the longitudinal ends of the profile panels.

Abstract: A plant irrigation system and method of use, wherein the system accepts a fluid and releases it over time to one or more plants. The improved design has the following modifications: The float valve has been re-located to inside the stake to allow the valve to be more stabilized. The outlet valve at the bottom of the container has been relocated so the water exits from the stake via the flexible outlet irrigation tube rather than a valve that was at the bottom of the container. The Inlet flow tubs has been relocated so that it feeds water directly into the stake as opposed to feeding it into an inlet in the container. The fluid that is released through the valves attached to the flexible outlet irrigation tube will be released with stronger pressure. The system can be fed manually or via an irrigation network capable of feeding fluid to one or more containers. Fluid flow into each individual container is controlled via a float valve or level switch.

Abstract: A pet bowl lift apparatus includes a tray for holding at least one pet bowl and a lift mechanism supported on ground level, detachably supporting the tray upon and above the lift mechanism, and being vertically movable between collapsed and extended states. The lift apparatus also includes a lift control mechanism operable to actuate the lift mechanism between the collapsed and extended states to elevate the tray from proximate the ground level to different elevations above the ground level to enable a person without bending to replace and remove the tray on and from the lift mechanism and to accommodate at the different elevations pets of different sizes.
