Abstract: One exemplary embodiment of this disclosure relates to a transfer molding assembly including a chamber, a die within the chamber, a first gas control device configured to provide a first gas into the chamber, and a second gas control device configured to provide a second gas into the die.
Abstract: A system for facilitating smoking of tobacco from a hookah having a bowl with an interior space for holding organic matter to be smoked by a user, a heating platform for resting on the bowl with a central surface including a depression with at least one surrounding wall such that a heating source will not slide off the central surface, at least one perimeter vents arranged in a pattern around the central surface such that air can pass back and forth between an area above the central surface and below the central surface and at least one exterior vent located in at least one perimeter wall located around an exterior of the heating platform and a cap with at least one exterior vent, at least one upper vent, at least one movement control extension and at least one rest for resting on the heating platform.
Abstract: A molded foam member manufacturing method including: a first process of placing a foam molded first portion and a rigid member in a second portion forming mold, and pressing and fixing the rigid member against the second portion forming mold; and a second process of pouring a second portion-forming synthetic resin raw material into the second portion forming mold and foam molding a second portion so as to surround at least a portion of the rigid member and to form an integral unit with the first portion.
Abstract: Provided are smoking products and methods of preparing smoking products that include tobacco and a deflavored rosemary or a heat-treated rosemary. The deflavored and/or heat-treated rosemary may have been previously heated at a temperature and a time sufficient to reduce or remove flavorant components compared to the use of untreated rosemary. The heated rosemary may include one or more pentacyclic triterpenoid acids such as betulinic, betul-18-enoic, oleanolic, and ursolic acids.

Abstract: A device for consolidating a thermoplastic preform, in particular a carbon fiber thermoplastic preform includes a heating element, e.g., an LED array, for heating the preform and a consolidation element, e.g., a consolidation roller, for exposing the preform to pressure and for cooling the preform. In order to consolidate the preform, the heating element and consolidation element are arranged and movable relative to each other in such a way that the preform can be exposed to pressure and cooled by the consolidation element after heated by means of the heating element.

Abstract: Provided herein is a tobacco recovery machine that automatically removes and separates a tobacco rod from formed cigarettes and slits the tipping paper surrounding the tobacco rod. The tobacco recovery machine includes a hopper that receives cigarettes. A feed mechanism individually feeds the cigarettes from the hopper and through a chopping mechanism that removes the filter rod from each cigarette leaving the cylindrical tobacco rod wrapped in the tipping paper. The tobacco recovery machine next feeds the tobacco rod of the cigarette through a slitting mechanism that slits the tipping paper wrapping surrounding the tobacco. The slitting mechanism axially slits the tipping paper along the tobacco rod such that the tobacco product can separate from the tipping paper.
Abstract: Methods for aligning a pair of calibrated lasers of a laser additive manufacturing system in an overlap region in which the pair of calibrated lasers selectively operate are provided. Respective first and second plurality of layers of a test structure are formed in the overlap region of the pair of calibrated lasers solely using a first calibrated laser of the pair of calibrated lasers and then solely using a second calibrated laser of the pair of calibrated lasers. The test structure forming creates an outer surface of the test structure corresponding to the overlap region. A dimension(s) of an offset step(s) created between the first plurality of layers and the second plurality of lasers in the outer surface of the test structure is/are measured. The lasers are aligned by applying the dimension(s) of the offset step(s) as an alignment correction(s) to at least one of the pair of calibrated lasers.

Abstract: A bowl for a water pipe comprising: an interior space defined by an inner surface of the bowl; and one or more walls separating the inner space into a plurality of compartments for holding organic matter to be smoked by a user.
Abstract: A water pipe bowl assembly includes a hollow adapter having a connector and an opposed insert, and a bowl support extends radially outward from hollow adapter between the connector and the insert. A hollow bowl fixture is positioned on the bowl support and over the insert, and includes inwardly-directed upper flange encircling the closed outer end of the insert, an inwardly-directed lower flange encircling the inner end of the insert, and a smoke-collection chamber between the upper and lower flanges through which the insert extends from the inner end to the closed outer end. The upper flange and the closed outer end of the insert form a bowl for receiving a substance to be smoked and a smoke-inhalation pathway from the bowl to the smoke-collection chamber, and the opening through insert is for transferring inhalation smoke from the smoke-collection chamber to the hollow adapter.
