  • Patent number: 10031972
Abstract: Web information providing system and method are provided to search for Web sites and content that provide services given the keywords input by a user and displays the linked data. When a user inputs the search keywords into a keyword input unit, an entry decision unit determines the entered formats of the input keywords. An attribute decision unit determines the attributes from the content represented by the keywords corresponding to the format of the entry. A search unit searches for Web sites and content that provide the services corresponding to the attributes and displays the linked data of the searched Web sites and content on a display unit. If the linked data displayed on the display unit is selected, an access unit accesses the Web site and instructs the provision of the service indicated by the entry content of the keywords.

  • Patent number: 10013444
Abstract: A method begins by a dispersed storage (DS) processing module determining to create or modify a data object index key of a data object regarding an attribute of a plurality of attribute categories. The method continues with the DS processing module entering a process to update a data object level index node by retrieving the data object level index node from a set of dispersed storage (DS) units. The method continues with the DS processing module updating and encoding the data object level index node to produce a set of slices. The method continues with the DS processing module generating a set of write commands to write the set of slices to the set of DS units. When less than a threshold number of the set of write commands are successfully executed by the set of DS units, repeating the process to update the data object level index node.

  • Patent number: 9977829
Abstract: A combinatorial summarizer includes a plurality of summarization engines, a processor in selective communication with each summarization engine, and computer readable instructions executable by the processor and embodied on a tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium. Each summarization engine is to select a respective plurality of sentences, and generate a relative rank and an associated weight for each sentence of the respective plurality of sentences. The computer readable instructions include instructions to determine a combined weight for each sentence of each respective plurality of sentences. The combined weight is based upon the respective associated weight and a respective relative human rank for each sentence in a set of sentences, including all sentences of each respective plurality of sentences.

  • Patent number: 9971827
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for integrating external data from an external system into a client system. A subscription filed is selected. The subscription filed may include a read method and a query method. The read method may define fields of a client cache operating on the client system. The query method may be executed to retrieve, from the external system, field values corresponding to at least a subset of the fields. Upon executing the query method, the read method may also be executed to retrieve, from the external system, additional field values corresponding to a remaining subset of the fields that were not retrieved by executing the query method. The client cache is populated with the field values and the additional field values according to the fields.

  • Patent number: 9965489
Abstract: Technology is disclosed for performing a priority synchronization of a computing device to download a selected set of data files to the computing device from a distributed backup system. Data files are downloaded to a computing device by synchronizing the computing device with a server of the distributed backup system. A priority sync downloads a subset of the data files (“priority files”) rather than all of the data files of the user, thereby minimizing the computing resources consumed to download the data files. The priority sync can select the priority files based on various criteria, including an access pattern of the data files, attributes of the data files, or attributes of the computing device. The priority sync can also download the data files not identified as priority files (“non-priority files”). While the priority files are downloaded in their original format, the non-priority files are downloaded in a downgraded format.

  • Patent number: 9959283
Abstract: Techniques for managing records on a filesystem to enforce a record disposition protocol. Embodiments identify records on the filesystem using one or more record definitions. Each record definition may contain a conditional statement which, if satisfied by a particular file on the filesystem, indicates the particular file as a record. Embodiments may then monitor file activity for each of the identified records and upon detecting the file activity, may enforce the record disposition protocol for the record. Such enforcement may include preventing the file activity, and may further include logging information related to the file activity.

  • Patent number: 9953046
Abstract: Displaying pieces of data includes displaying a tree structure on a display device, identifying, in response to a first node being selected from among nodes constituting the displayed tree structure, all nodes connected to the first node in a high-order direction and a low-order direction as a first node group, and identifying, in response to a second node being selected, the second node not being included in the first node group, all nodes connected to the second node in the high-order direction and the low-order direction as a second node group. The second node moves toward the first node according to an operation. A node not to be displayed is determined according to a rule and movement of the second node group. A display device is instructed to display the first node group and the second node group close to each other omitting display of the determined node.

  • Patent number: 9946722
Abstract: Embodiments relate to tracking local and remote file usage, and aggregating the resulting file usage statistics for presentation to a user. The operating system of a computer can track and generate local file usage statistics, such as most recently used files and editing time. A Web application or service, such as an email or word processing application or service, can record the file usage data for a user's remote stored or served files. A file usage aggregator module, which can be located for resident in the operating system of the local computer or hosted at a Web site, can receive and combine the local and remote file usage statistics. The file usage aggregator module can generate a display of the aggregated file usage statistics, so that local and remote files are listed in a most-recently used order, on a combined basis.

  • Patent number: 9940337
Abstract: Examples perform predictive probabilistic deduplication of storage, such as virtualized or physical disks. Incoming input/output (I/O) commands include data, which is written to storage and tracked in a key-value store. The key-value store includes a hash of the data as the key, and a reference counter and the address of the data as the value. When a certain percentage of sampled incoming data is found to be duplicate, it is predicted that the I/O commands have become not unique (e.g., duplicate). Based on the prediction, subsequent incoming data is not written to storage, and instead the reference counter associated with the hash of the data is incremented. In this manner, predictions on the uniqueness of future data is made based on previous data, and extraneous writes and deletions from the chunk store are avoided.

  • Patent number: 9934327
Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system for extracting subgraphs from a multigraph with approximation. The mechanism receives a multigraph and a relevance function and a pattern generation component executing within the data processing system searches the multigraph for occurrences of at least one pattern based on an approximation function. A relevance computation component executing within the data processing system determines a relevance measure for the multigraph based on the relevance function and the occurrences of the at least one pattern. The mechanism provides output of relevant patterns based on the occurrences of the at least one pattern.

  • Patent number: 9928240
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, computer program product, and system for generating a plan for document processing. A plurality of electronic documents are received from a data store. The plurality of electronic documents are analyzed. Textual data within the identified tabular data are identified, by performing a first natural language search of the analyzed plurality of electronic documents. Textual hints are generated, where the generated textual hints are mapped to a lookup set. References are identified, and a count of identified references are determined. A priority score is calculating based on the count of identified references. In response to receiving a priority score modifying value, a modified priority score is calculated. Ingestion plans are generated based on the modified priority score. Generated ingestion plans are communicated by the computer using the network.
