  • Patent number: 5977468
Abstract: A music system is constructed by a transmitter for transmitting performance information and a receiver for receiving the performance information so as to reproduce music performance. In the transmitter, a first packet encoder packetizes the performance information so as to sequentially form a primary packet of the performance information. A second packet encoder packetizes state information so as to form a secondary packet of the state information in correspondence with the primary packet. The state information indicates a proper operation state of a channel defined by the protocol of Musical Instrument Digital Interface. A packet multiplexer transmits the primary packet together with the secondary packet by multiplexing so as to ensure proper reproduction of the music performance by means of a channel provided in the receiver. In the receiver, a packet demultiplexer separates the primary packet and the secondary packet from each other.

  • Patent number: 5726371
Abstract: In a musical tone waveform generation apparatus for outputting musical tone signals generated by a software program at predetermined time intervals, sound source methods can be selected in units of tone generation channels. In the musical tone waveform generation apparatus, the sound source method or the tone color of a musical tone signal to be output is determined in accordance with performance data (pitch data, touch data, music part data, and the like). A musical tone signal is generated by CPU upon execution of a sound source processing program, associated with a modulation method stored in a memory. The generated musical tone signal is output at predetermined time intervals. As for sound source processing based on the modulation method, at least one operator processing, and algorithm processing for determining an input/output relationship among the operator processing operations are independently executed.

  • Patent number: 5700966
Abstract: A miniature bank of switches is affixed directly to the musical instrument where it is easy to access during a live performance. The instrument-mounted unit produces an encoded signal representing the pattern and sequence of switch buttons depressed. This encoded signal is radiated, via UHF or infrared, to the remotely located musical instrument switching circuit. The switching circuit may be rack-mounted along with the effects devices which it controls. The switching unit receives the radiated signals and produces the corresponding MIDI protocol signals to control modern day MIDI effects devices, or alternatively produces signals which simulate ON/OFF wired foot switches to control effects of vintage amplifier equipment.

  • Patent number: 5663515
Abstract: A karaoke online system is composed of a karaoke station and a karaoke terminal telecommunicable with the karaoke station. The karaoke station has a database for storing a plurality of performance data files corresponding to a plurality of karaoke songs, each performance data file containing a sequence data which time-sequentially designates musical tones of the corresponding karaoke song. A selector responds to a request command transmitted from the karaoke terminal for selecting a performance data file of a karaoke song designated by the request command. A transmitter transmits the sequence data contained in the selected performance data file to the karaoke station in synchronization with a predetermined tempo of the designated karaoke song. On the other hand, the karaoke terminal transmits the request command to the karaoke station upon a request of the designated karaoke song to be performed.

  • Patent number: 4597318
Abstract: A wave generating method and a wave generating apparatus using the method are arranged such that plurality of wave samples, each being generated successively, are respectively weighted by, for example, being multiplied by a plurality of wave functions generated corresponding to the plurality of wave samples. The plurality of weighted wave samples are summed to obtain a desired wave. The kind of each of the plurality of wave samples generated successively is changed at each time when the value of corresponding one of the plurality of wave functions becomes zero.
