  • Patent number: 8060967
Abstract: A rotating hair brush with a fins or similar implement projected into the moving path of the brush bristles. The fins automatically remove the hair/fur from the brush bristles. The amount of exposed bristles can be varied and completely concealed inside of the housing. The brush core can contain the batteries and/or motor to reduce the overall size of the assembly. A suction device can be attached to remove dislodged debris. The overall structure contains all of the components such as the motor, power source, brush and hair removal fins in a single housing. The brush is removable and can be exchanged for another with a different bristle configuration.

  • Patent number: 8060969
Abstract: A cloth accessory includes a cover member of a soft and flexible material, which forms an enclosure having an opening therein. An insert is configured to fit within the cover member and hold the opening of the cover member in an open position with a substantially constant size and shape. A cloth is coupled to the cover member and has a first and second configuration. The cloth is retracted substantially into the cover member for storage in the first configuration. In the second configuration the cloth is extended through the insert and the opening of the cover member, and substantially out of the cover member for use while remaining coupled to the cover member. An associated method for cleaning or treating a device includes providing a cloth accessory, orienting the cloth into the second configuration and contacting a device with the cloth to clean or treat the device.

  • Patent number: 8032968
Abstract: Present invention relates to a slotted toothbrush body and neck. The toothbrush body has an elastomer part with a PP part and adhesion legs. The adhesion legs have surfaces in contact with a toothbrush holder/glass. There are PP bridges forming the toothbrush neck, and an elastomer section supports the bridges forming the toothbrush neck. Teeth are better cleaned, and gingival get less deteriorated by pivotal movement of the head in the front and back direction and right and left direction. Also, the toothbrush can be secured to the toothbrush holder/glass edge without contacting other toothbrushes.

  • Patent number: 8032969
Abstract: An attachable brush for footwear, particularly suited for an umpire to clean dirt from home plate during a baseball game is herein disclosed. The footwear comprises a bristle portion along one (1) side and sized approximately one (1) inch wide and four (4) inches long, with the bristle portions being approximately one (1) inch. The brush body is attached to the footwear by means of a flap made of leather or similar resilient material. The flap is attached to the top of the brush body and is removably attached to the footwear by use of eyelets that would be interlocked with the shoelaces on the footwear. This enables the umpire to slightly lift his foot, allowing the brush to hang down, and sweep it back and forth over the home plate area. Its positioning would not allow it to interfere with walking or other activities when not being used.

  • Patent number: 8029069
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a toothbrush having needle-shaped bristles, and a toothbrush manufactured by the method. The toothbrush manufacturing method of the present invention includes the step of partially tapering ends of bristles, which are made of polyester and are set in a toothbrush body, through a physical grinding process, and the step of completing of a process of tapering the partially tapered bristles by immersing the partially tapered bristles in a chemical. The present invention makes it possible for toothbrush bristles to be tapered through a simple process. Furthermore, the present invention solves conventional difficulties occurring in tapering bristles after setting them in toothbrush bodies.

  • Patent number: 8020236
Abstract: A light weight floor sweeper having a very low profile sweeper head that uses a sweeping brush and cleaning pad to slide across the surface to be cleaned. The floor sweeper head is mounted to an elongated handle by means of a universal pivot or universal joint which allows the floor sweeper head to easily pivot about the handle in any direction to pick up debris under over hanging cabinets or under furniture. A sweeping brush is mounted on the bottom of the sweeper head to provide sweeping action as the floor sweeper is moved in any direction. Furthermore there is a soft cleaning pad releasably mounted adjacent to the brush to entrap dust and particles that the brush does not pick up. The brush is powered by a small electric motor. A removable dust-receiving tray is mounted in the sweeper head to receive debris swept by the brush.

  • Patent number: 8011057
Abstract: There are provided a device and a method for cleaning teeth. The device comprises a brush, a shaft connected to the brush, a neck surrounding the shaft along a substantial portion of the length of the shaft, and a controller coupled to the shaft at the end of the shaft opposite the brush, the controller being mounted at the base of the neck so as to be movable between a first position that extends the brush away from the neck, and a second position that retracts the brush towards the neck. The method comprises inserting, between adjacent teeth, a device having a brush, a controller and a handle, the controller for effecting movement of the brush in a direction generally perpendicular to the handle, and keeping the handle generally stationary while moving the controller up and down to move the brush along front-to-back and back-to-front paths between the adjacent teeth. Moving the controller may occur via pressure from a user's finger, or via force from a motor in the device.

  • Patent number: 8011055
Abstract: A cleaning implement that includes a shaft, a mop disposed on one end of the shaft, a wringer, and a fixed grip. The wringer includes a wringing sleeve and a wringer handle. The wringer is movable over a range of travel between a mopping position and a range of wringing positions, in which wringing positions the wringing sleeve covers and compresses at least a portion of the mop to thereby expel liquid from the mop. The wringer is rotatable relative to the shaft through at least a portion of the axial range of travel. The wringer further comprises at least one volute wherein the volute defines a semi-enclosed area inside the wringer, the semi-enclosed area configured to receive a portion of the mop through a gap defined in the volute. The volute includes a first fin and a second fin that define the gap therebetween.

  • Patent number: 8001649
Abstract: A wiper assembly for sweeping a glass surface on a vehicle. The wiper assembly includes a windshield washer assembly connected to the windshield wiper drive arm of the vehicle for controllably dispensing washer fluid directly down onto the glass surface of the vehicle. The wiper assembly also includes a novel control unit carried by the vehicle for controlling the dispensing of the washing liquid from the windshield washer assembly. Uniquely, the control unit includes a sensor that is operably associated with the pump for sensing the position of the wiper arm as it moves upwardly and downwardly relative to the glass surface and for controllably energizing the pump at selected positions of the wiper drive arm so that the washer fluid is always dispensed forwardly of the wiper blade to avoid smearing.

  • Patent number: 7979949
Abstract: An actuator for rotating an oscillating disk is mounted on a rear door. A pivot shaft provided with a lever is rotatably supported on a rear door glass. The lever is provided with a first elastic portion and second elastic portions. When the rear door glass is open, the first elastic member contacts the lever between the first restrictor and the lever. As a result, the rotation of the lever toward the outside of a first angle range by a first rotational force or less is restricted. The second elastic portion contacts the lever between the first restrictor and the lever even if the lever rotates toward the outside of a second angle range by a rotational force greater than the first rotational force.

  • Patent number: 7958591
Abstract: A cleaning tool having a cleaning head disposed at the distal and of an elongated, extendable shaft. A handle at the proximal end contains a lever attached to a linkage. The cleaning head has an elbow joint and provides an attachment point for an upper support arm and a lower support arm movable with respect thereto. The elbow joint allows the cleaning head to be rotated with respect to the distal end of the elongated, extendable shaft. Two-sided pads may be attached to distal ends of both the upper arm and the lower arm. Each two-sided pad may have a different cleaning property on each of its two major faces. This allows up to four different cleaning surfaces to be present at the cleaning head of the cleaning tool of the present invention. A linkage is provided between the lever and the lower support arm.
