  • Patent number: 10823223
Abstract: A vacuum cup assembly has a vacuum device with a vacuum passageway and a venturi. A vacuum cup is configured to engage an object. The venturi generates an at least partial vacuum at the vacuum cup when the vacuum cup is engaged with an object. The vacuum cup seals against the object when the venturi device generates the at least partial vacuum. A noise reducing device is at a discharge of the venturi. The noise reducing device has a housing defining a chamber, a plurality of spaced exit openings and a movable cap. Air discharged at the venturi is diverted in the chamber and flows out through the exit openings. The movable cap covers the exit opening to override the vacuum to enable the vacuum cup to be positioned or repositioned on the object.

  • Patent number: 10760558
Abstract: A multistage compressor is disclosed that may include a wobbling member operationally coupled with an external power source. The external power source may drive a nutating motion of the wobbling member. The multistage compressor may further include a plurality of flexible chambers connected to the wobbling member, each flexible chamber including a respective intake passage and a respective discharge passage. The wobbling member may sequentially press down and pull up the plurality of flexible chambers. The multistage compressor may further include a one-way valve in each respective intake passage and gas may be drawn into each flexible chamber through the respective one-way valve of each flexible chamber as the wobbling member pulls up each flexible chamber. The gas may then be compressed to a higher pressure as the wobbling member presses down each flexible chamber and compressed gas may be discharged through the respective discharge passage of each flexible chamber.

  • Patent number: 10570769
Abstract: A machine having a shaft with a stage having a first shaft section having a first diameter, a second shaft section having a second diameter that is shorter than the first, forming a radially extending rotatable shaft end surface; a housing; and a bearing supporting the shaft on the housing by its second shaft section, and lubricated by a lubrication fluid. A sealing chamber has a sealing fluid that prevents the lubrication from leaving the bearing, and is axially limited by the shaft end surface and bearing end side, and radially inwardly limited by the second shaft section released from the bearing. A radially extending and stationary separator plate is in the sealing chamber to achieve an aerodynamic shielding of the bearing end side from the shaft end surface. • Patent number: 10550676
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining proper phase rotation in a linear motor where the phase rotations associated with power and return strokes are initially unknown. Power having an initial phase rotation is provided to a linear motor until the motor's mover reaches the end of the stroke, and then power to the motor is discontinued. While power is discontinued, the mover is monitored to detect its movement. if the mover moves without power, the mover was at the top of the stroke, so the initial phase rotation is associated with an upward stroke of the mover, and a second phase rotation which is opposite the initial phase rotation is associated with a downward stroke of the mover. Otherwise, the initial phase rotation is associated with the downward stroke of the mover and the second, opposite phase rotation is associated with the upward stroke of the mover.

  • Patent number: 10539123
Abstract: In situations where a vacuum system is suddenly overloaded, there is a risk of mechanical damage being sustained, for example, bearing damage, gear slippage or rotor and/or stator collisions. Sudden overloads can also lead to electrical damage, for example, over-currents or power surges. Therefore a pressure regulating apparatus is provided for use in a vacuum pumping system having an inlet, an outlet and a conduit interposed between, and in fluid communication with, the inlet and the outlet, wherein the cross-sectional area of the conduit is greater than that required to meet the conductance requirements of the inlet and the outlet.
