    Abstract: A magnetic field correction device for enhancing magnetic uniformity of the field generated by a magnet includes plate-shaped shim elements provided with slots or holes for generating a desired corrective field component (the Bz.sup.11, the Bz.sup.21, or the Bz.sup.22 component). Thus, the shim elements exhibit the same length, thickness and width, and hence can be bundled easily together.
